Poplar Street, Petersburg Pike Central Middle School Winslow Elementary School Petersburg Elementary School Mrs. Nikki Nalley's eighth grade students, Logan Cummins and Alexis Oswalt, built a C02 dragster in the Dragster Design Expedition. They were given specifications to design, build and test a CO2 drag- ster. Here they are testing different axle materials to determine the axle with the least friction in an at- tempt to create the fastest dragster. Eighth graders Maddox Hunt and Nate Carter learned about how athletes have increased in size, strength and speed; how equipment protects them; and how new equipment is needed to continue to pro- tect them in the Ahead of the Game Expedition. They used the engineering design process to create a de- vice to protect an egg during a two-meter fall. Logan Powell picks a candy cane from Santa (Jor- dan Froderman).
