I'm excited to announce the new children's ministry that will begin this Wednes- day, called "Kids' Worship for Life Club." The children will be reading, learning, memo- rizing scripture and receiving rewards. It is a new and excit- ing adventure. The new adven- ture correlates to I Timothy 4:12, "Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the be- lievers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity." We hope you and your child can join us this Wednes- day. As always, the study and children's activities begin at 6 p.m., but everything is pre- ceded with a meal at 5:30 p.m. Hope to see you there. Lastly, allow me to invite you to visit Crossroads for our Sunday worship. At Cross- roads, we love Jesus and love people, and would be honored with your visit. Join us live on Facebook for all services. Michael Miller, Pastor joy" (Galatians 5:22). The word joy has all but disappeared from our cur- rent Christian vocabulary. One reason is because we have confused joy with hap- piness and have come to be- lieve it is to be found in plea- sure, security and prosperi- ty. In doing this, however, we have believed a lie that Satan is constantly telling the world to believe. But James did not say, "Count it all joy when you fall into an easy chair. He said, count it all joy when you fall into trials" ( James 1:2). Joy is not the same happiness, although they may overlap. Happiness depends on cir- cumstances and joy depends on God. Happiness vanishes when life turns painful, joy keeps going and may even grow. If at any time you have no church to attend, your pres- ence will be greatly appreci- ated and I am sure you will leave feeling blessed. Main Street Petersburg 812-354-6775 Breaking, Breaking, Hear All About It. These were the words paperboys would shout on the street enticing passers- by in the city to take a copy of that day or weeks paper. Often shouting the headlines to give even more reason. Maybe you didn't want a copy of the paper, but you heard that headline and you just had to know more. The gospel of Mark pulls these same strings. When you open the gospel of Mark, he gives you the headline, the begin- ning of the good news (the gospel) of Jesus the Christ (king), the son of God. May- be that doesn't mean much to you, but in the first century, this means everything. Mark has proclaimed to the hear- ers of his gospel account of Je- sus, there is a new king on the throne, and he doesn't sit in Rome, but he opposes Cesar. And this would have caught anyone's attention. But what I want to tell you, is that when you open the gospel account as told by mark, and you read those words, I want you to know, there is a new king on the throne of your heart, and it isn't you, it isn't your financ- es, it isn't someone else, it's Jesus, and that could radical- ly change your life. I want to invite you this week to come join us at 10 :30 a. m. on Sun- VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E. Walk in Repentance "The Lord is not slow to ful- fill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient to- ward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." (2 Peter 3:9, ESV ). Repentance is key to being a Christian. Yes once we accept Jesus in our heart and confess that he is the son of God, our sins are forgiven. But we must humble ourselves and realize that we as humans commit many sins and some without even knowing. As Christians, we must walk in repentance everyday. For one day, Jesus will come back and it goes without saying that being left behind is not something any- one will enjoy. God bless you and keep you. See our Facebook page Glezen Revival Center. "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good" (Genesis 1:31) —Billy Graham. Denny Wiscaver, Pastor David Sattler, Reporter neither doth corruption in- herit incorruption. We all shall not sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trum- pet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is writ- ten, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law: but thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
