Good Luck at Sectional Pike Central Volleyball Chargers soccer downs Raiders, 5-0 The Pike Central Char- ger soccer team handled the Southridge Raiders by the score of 5 -0 on a road trip to Huntingburg on Tuesday evening. The win came af- ter closing the first half 2-0 and then adding three more goals. Keeper Kendric Sor- gius had five saves in goal, including saving a penalty kick, according to Charger head coach Jacob Western. Coach said the team had "five different players score goals today and four differ- ent players had an assist in the win last night. Goals were scored by Nolan Nel- son, Connor Young, Joey Rid- ao, Garrett Boyd and Reece Ashley. Defensively we were solid limiting their chanc- es." The Lady Charger Soccer Club (PCMS) won the Southern Indiana Junior High Soccer Conference Tourna- ment at Jasper by defeating Bloomfield 3-2 and then South Knox by the score of 3-2. Girls on the team include: Carley Johnson, Lindsey Woods, Lainey Leighty, Emma Brock, Sadie Willis, Alyssa McCutchen, Amelia Adams, Jovie Mills, Daegan Knepp, Trinity Lemond, Alexa Ayala, Hattie Yager and Lillian Nalley. The Charger Soccer Club (PCMS) won the Southern Indiana Junior High Soccer Conference Tournament at Jasper by defeating Southridge JV 1-0, Vincennes Clark 2-1 and Vincennes Rivet 3-3. Team members include: Brady Cooper, Ian Shoultz, Jacob Harker, Deacon Jenkins, Cohen Brown, Eli Scott, Cameron Roy, Ryder Trout- man, Gannon Western, Julian Hay, Grant Stinson, Zayne Bell, Awstyn Luff, Braxton Maxey, Riley Mosby, Ban- non Mills, Layton Wiscaver, Alex Uppencamp, Rueger Troutman, Chase Denton, Andrew Woods, Ryan Mosby, Connor Lester, Isaac Pancake and Hayden Goins. Both MS soccer clubs prevail in tourney Both the boys' and girls' Charger Soccer Clubs at Pike Central Middle School won championships at Jasper in the Southern Indiana Junior High Soccer Conference tour- nament. The boys posted a 1-0 win over Southridge JV, a 2-1 win with Vincennes Clark and then a 3-3 tie with Vincennes Rivet for the BE Bracket win. The girls bettered Bloom- field 3-2 and then got past South Knox 3-2 for the cham- pionship in the coed GE brack- et. The girls are coached by Brittany Biesterveld and Brid- get Butcher, and the boys by Colin Mahoney and Ethan Up- pencamp.
