Good Luck at Sectional Pike Central Girls' Cross Country Weisman not only won the Pocket Athletic Conference Champion- ship for the second time in a row, but also set the middle school record for the course. She gar- nered the PAC crown and All-PAC Team acco- lades and Lady Charger teammate Kylee Weath- ers also earned All- PAC team recognition for ninth place. Blaine Barnett also claimed All-PAC honors for his ninth place finish on the Prides Creek XC Course in the middle school boys' race. Middle school assis- tant coach Danette Weis- man reports "Two-time Pocket Athletic Con- ference Champ Xavery Weisman broke the mid- dle school cross country record Saturday, finish- ing 24 seconds ahead of Princeton's Mallory Watt. Adding four more teams to the PAC didn't keep our girls from fin- ishing third, behind Tell City and Princeton, out of the 13 teams. "PAC is always the goal for middle school runners and every Pike Central Middle School runner got a PR at PAC. We couldn't be more proud of all our run- ners." Kylee Weath- ers placed ninth in 11:41.38, followed by Kaylyn Warner in 17th (12:03.41), Kylie Mey- er (30th, 12:47.92), Eibhlin Teague (32nd, 12:50.04). Jessa Ridao (44th, 13:41.74). In the girls' open, Ava Miller clocked 13:40.20, Kelsea Query (14:07.90), Kate- lyn Neal (14:10.70) and Caleigh Cox (14:13.77). In the boys' mid- dle school race, Blaine Barnett placed ninth in 10 :16.15, fol- lowed by Jacoby Smith (35, 11:36.36), Ethan Mann (55, 12:21.91), Aaron Grad- verry (62, 12:45.25), Xander Parker (70, 15:11.17), Gary Van- Winkle (71, 15:18.09). In the middle school boys' open, Taylor Rus- sell ran a 13:16.89 and Joshua Smith a 14:16.44. Kylie Meyer and Eibhlin Teague ran 30th and 32nd overall at PAC, clocking 12:47.92 and 12:50.04 respectively. Blaine Barnett finished 9th in the mid- dle school PAC race, clocking 10:16.15, just eight seconds out of fifth overall. He earned All-PAC team status for his strong finish. Kaylyn Warner ran 17th overall, clocking 12:03.41 in the PAC on Saturday at Prides Creek. Jacoby Smith was the second place Charger finisher in the PAC, with a time of 11:36.36 and 35th overall. Kylee Weathers was looking for the finish line on the uphill stretch of the Prides Creek cross country course. Weathers ran second for her team and clocked 11:41.38 for ninth overall and All-PAC team standing.
