He was born on December 23, 1943 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Arthur Lee Adams and the late Lucy Jane Hartgrove Adams. Howard is preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Thompson, Betty Gray, and his granddaughter, Shaakira Ross.
