Born in Cleveland county on March 18, 1932, he was the son of the late Malcom Wilson and wife Leila Crowder Wilson. Mr. Wilson served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Debbie Wilson Bridges, a sister Margaret Wilson Walker and a brother Gene Wilson. Bill is survived by his wife, and love of his life of 62 years, Shelva Hawkins Wilson, three daughters; Donna Wilson, Denise Rankin and husband David, and Deedee Wilson Canipe and husband Derrick, six grandchildren and six great- grandchildren; brother-in- law, Jimmy Hawkins and a special Aunt. Graveside Service was held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bill Fryar officiating. Memorials may be made to: Double Springs Baptist Church, 1130 Double Springs Church Road, Shelby NC. the late Thomas Clyde and Carrie Pannell Jones and was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 52 years, Lawrence Chalmer Pruitt. Katie was also preced- ed in death by her brothers, Thomas and Clyde Jones, and sisters, Verta Hastings, Emma Huffstetler and Lucy Allen. Survivors: Sons: Darryl Pruitt of Charlotte, NC and Reverend Dennis Pruitt and wife Patricia of Gastonia, NC; Sister: Jane Cabiness of Rock Hill, SC; Grandchildren: Tiffany Pruitt Stevens and husband John of Gloucester, VA and Michael Pruitt and wife Alexis of Shelby, NC; and Great-Grandchildren: Cole and Ally Stevens and Amelia, Benjamin and Thomas Pruitt. Funeral service was held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Second Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC with Pastor Dennis Pruitt officiating. MAFRA SILVERS EDWARDS Mafra Silvers Edwards, age 93, of Ellenboro, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at Willow Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mafra was born August 1, 1927 in Yancey County to the late Dan Gaston Silvers and Minnie Lee Hensley Silvers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Molt Edwards; son, Cedrick Edwards; four sisters and five brothers. Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Ralph Edwards (Kathy), Bookter Edwards (Carolyn) and Steve Edwards all of Ellenboro; daughter, Julie Scruggs (Jodean) also of Ellenboro. She is also sur- vived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchil- dren. A private graveside service will be conducted at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. DAVID WILHIDE David Wilhide, age 60, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. David was born July 21, 1960 in Buncombe County to the late Howard Wilhide and Muriel King Wilhide. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alana Sparks. Those left to cherish his memory include his daugh- ters, Angel Wilhide (David) of Forest City, Tammy Waters (Anthony) of Ellenboro and Shannon Dobbins (Dustin) of Forest City; sisters, Tammy Smith (Ronnie) of Morganton, Joyce Cole (Jim) of Forest City, Stacy Kempster (Kenny) of Forest City and Samantha Hopper of Rutherfordton; brothers, Bart Wilhide (Sandy) of Forest City and Michael Wilhide (Alisha) of Tennessee; and five grandchildren, Isaiah Thrift, Isaac Thrift, Anthony Fitzgerald, Jr., Paisley EMMETT ODELL GREENE Emmett Odell Greene, 79, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on September 11, 2020, surrounded by loved ones at the home of his daughter. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of the late Fred Thomas and Louis Lovelace Green and was pre- ceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Harmon. Survivors: wife of 59 years: Betty Champion Greene, of the home; Daughter: Lisa Greene Weaver and husband Bill, Shelby, NC; Son: Phillip Greene and family, Shelby, NC; Grandchildren: Angel Queen (Phillip), Dustin Mode, Thomas Weaver (Chrissy Helton) and Nicholas Weaver; and Great-Grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Jackson Queen. Don was born December 2, 1932 in Cleveland County, the son of the late Henry Lee and Clara Odell Brinkley Beam. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Beam is preced- ed in death by his daughter, Roxanna Beam Carpenter; five sisters: Faith Edwards, Hope Lewis, Charity Williams, Clara Wallace, and Jo Eddie Anderson; as well as two brothers: Murray Beam, Sr. and Henry Lee (H.L.) Beam, Jr.. He is survived by two sons, Donald B. Beam, Jr. (Judy) of Clemmons and Gary C. Beam (Vickie) of Kings Mountain; son-in-law Ray Dean Carpenter of Kings Mountain; five grandchil- dren, William Beam (Ashley), Tyler Beam (Kortney), Lacey Beam, Brittany Beam, Travis Ingle (Rachel) and three great-grandchildren.
