ELSIE LOU PARKER WILLIS Elsie Lou Parker Willis, 84, of 145 Willis Road, Lawndale, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby. Born in Cleveland County, on April 3, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Haywood Parker and Zora Belle Luckadoo Parker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Gertrude Sailors, Christine Seagle, Beth McNeilly and Jeanette Hoyle and two infant sisters. Survivors include her hus- band of sixty nine years, JC Willis; three sons, Jessie Ronnie Willis and wife Rene of Kings Mountain, Gary Willis and wife Bernice of Lawndale and Michael Willis and wife Jennifer of Lawndale; two daughters, Daphene McNeilly and hus- band Richard of Casar and Ellie Beason and husband Bobby of Shelby; three broth- ers, Delbert Parker of Casar, Claman Parker of Hickory and Bobby Parker of Casar; sister, Margaret Willis of Lawndale; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Stamey- Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Elwell officiating. The burial followed in the Knob Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. CLAUDE DAVID MARTIN Blacksburg - Claude David Martin, 83, passed away on Sunday, August 30th, 2020, at his home. Born in Blacksburg, he was the widower of Emily Jean Porter Martin and the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Martin and Ione Hardin Martin. Surviving Mr. Martin are a son, Gary Martin (Cassie), and a grandson, Jeremy DARE ALDRIDGE TRIPLETT Dare Aldridge Triplett, age 96, of US Highway 321 South, Boone, passed away Saturday morning, September 5, 2020. She was born July 22, 1924 in Watauga County, the daughter of the late McLonel Aldridge and Artie Mae Sluder Hollar. She was a retired sales clerk with Belks Department Store and was a member of Middle Fork Baptist Church. Dare's happiest times were when she was with her fam- ily. Sunday afternoon was her favorite time, as her home was the place where all were welcome. She was a true southern cook, always growing vegetables and fill- ing the table with the most delicious food imaginable. She is survived by one daughter, Gail Storie and husband Nelson of Blowing Rock; two sons, Mike Triplett of Boone and Chris Triplett and wife Debbie of Boone; one granddaughter, Sarah Triplett Farris and husband Michael of Sneedsferry, North Carolina; two sis- ters, Judy Dale of Oxford, Mississippi; and Peggy Mains of Zionville; and one brother, Jay Aldridge and wife Suma of Boone. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her father and mother she was pre- ceded in death by her hus- band, Romey Triplett and one sister, Gerrydine "Gerri" Ledford of Shelby. Due to COVID-19 services will be private. CLAIR Anthony Christopher St. Clair, 41, of Shady Grove Road, Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Born in Gaston County, NC on November 21, 1978, he was the son of Kathy Murphy Head and the late James Edward St. Clair. DONALD "DON" LUTHER HOYLE Donald "Don" Luther Hoyle, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. Born in Cleveland County on March 12, 1951, he was the son of the late Luther Raymond and Hattie Lee Abernathy Hoyle and step- mother, Myrtle Self Hoyle. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. In addition to his parents and step mother, Don is preceded in death by four brothers, Gene Hoyle, Bill Hoyle, Coleman Hoyle and Dale Hoyle; two sisters, Joann Lovelace and Margie Vess. Don is survived by fiancee, Jamie Pearson; five sisters, Ann Hord of Shelby, Linda Willis and husband Charles of Shelby, Sue Thornburg and husband Dwan of Kings Mountain, Janet Helms and husband Michael of Shelby, and Kathy Weaver of Shelby. REBECCA ANN CLAYTON HEAFNER Shelby: Rebecca Ann Clayton Heafner, born August 2, 1939, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, August 31, 2020, at her home. She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph Sr. and Argie Clayton; and granddaughter, Stephanie Heafner. Becky leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Hal Heafner; daughters, Jill Heafner, Tina Greene and husband Gary, and Shannon Tomlin and husband Dewey, all from Shelby; son, Alex Heafner and wife Susan of Lake Lure; grandchildren, Dallas Tomlin, Matthew Tomlin, Elizabeth Heafner and Samuel Heafner; sister, Joy Lee Burns of Troy; and brother, Ralph Clayton Jr. and wife Faye of Reidsville. She was born in Gaston, NC, daughter of the late Robert and Betty Beaver Hayes. ROBERT "BOB" STEPHENS Mr. Robert "Bob" Stephens, Jr., 67, of 1308 Newton St., Shelby, NC passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Dayton, OH on October 9, 1952 to the late Ruby Henry Hoard and Robert Laurance Stephens, Sr. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Gidney, brother-in- law, Marvin Brunson, and his father-in-law and mother-in- law, Oscar T. Gidney and Ruth L. Gidney. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 34 years, Janie Gidney Stephens and a son Donnie Gidney (Brenda) of Shelby, NC, his sister, Anita Brunson and brother Apostle Ronald Hoard (Henrietta) of Columbus, OH, and James Holman who was reared in the home and God brother Marvin Lattimore of Dayton, OH, one grand- daughter, Martika Gidney of Charlotte, NC. JOHNIE McKINNEY Johnie McKinney, 88, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on September 2, 2020 at Atrium Cleveland in Shelby, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Robert Elam and Mamie Hamrick McKinney and was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sophia Allen and Adam Rogers and a son-in-law, Dennis Stroup. He was born on October 25, 1947 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Elsie McGill Froneberger and the late Bill Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdad, James Froneberger and his brother, Carl McGill. He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Ida McClain of Kings Mountain, NC; a special cousin who was like his sister, Linda Mintz of Shelby; his aunt, Kathleen Tyler of Philadelphia, PA; a special niece, Licia McClain and a special nephew, Nelson McClain both of Kings Mountain, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
