He was born in Rowan County, NC, eleventh child of the late Reid and Catherine Cranford Moss and was pre- ceded in death by his three brothers and two sisters. MICKEY GENE MELLON Mickey Gene Mellon, 53, of Old Church Street, Mooresboro, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Hospice House of Forest City. Born in Cleveland County, NC on July 9, 1967, he was the son of Harold Dean Mellon, Sr. and Joyce Redmond Mellon. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Bradley Mellon of Marion; two daughters, Micki Mellon of Kings Mountain and Candie Mellon of Lawndale; a brother, Harold D. BETTY CONKLIN STEELE Cherryville - Betty Conklin Steele, formerly Lincolnton, NC, passed away on August 30, 2020. On November 27, 1934, Betty Jean was born to the late Alton Murray Conklin, Sr. and Irene Secrest Conklin in Burlington, NC. She was the fourth of six children, and is survived by her loving younger sister, Sandra Conklin Porterfield, of Burlington, and three gen- erations of wonderful nieces and nephews too numerous to list. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Howard (D.H.) Steele Jr. She is survived by her children and their spous- es: Donna and husband Kenneth (Hammer) Michael of Iron Station NC, Karen Steele of Morganton, NC, Skip and wife Shasta Beam Steele of Vale, NC, Fred and wife Holly Lawing Steele of Vale, NC and Stephen and wife Luann Hallman Steele of Sherrils Ford, NC; and nine grandchildren and their spouses are Dee Dee Michael Low (John), Casey Michael, Shane Steele (Candi), Justin Steele (Carla), Kelly Steele (John), Eric Steele (Sarah), Keane Steele (Laura), Shelby Steele Cherry (Carson) and Nicholas Steele (Danielle); and twelve great-grandchil- dren. He was born on March 2, 1962 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Withrow Wilson, Sr. and Jessie Mae Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eliza Wilson and an uncle, Larry Wilson, Sr. He leaves fond memo- ries of him to his sons, Alex Petty and Lutran Green both of Shelby; his sisters, Lena Mae Wilson of Asheville, NC, Lila Marie Wilson of Shelby, Janice Sue Wilson of Cherryville, NC and Joyce Ann Wilson of Galloway, NJ; and two brothers, Withrow Wilson, Jr. of Shelby and Wendell Wilson (Fredia) of Savannah, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. LOUISE MOSES LOVE Blacksburg - Louise Moses Love, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31st, at her home. Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Walter Love and the daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Dover Moses. Born in Cleveland County, on August 14, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Edgar William Dixon and Hettie Sara Gantt Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lail, one brother, Bill Dixon and three sisters, Jessie Blanton, Lucy Anthony and Ruth Carnes. She is survived by her three sons and daughters- in-law, Ed and Linda Lail of Shelby, Joe and Alice Lail of Shelby and Tom and Tina Lail of Longwood, FL; six grandchildren, Lisa Donaldson (Jeremiah), Whitney Worsham (Josh), A d r i e n n e F l e t c h e r , Benjamin Lail, Jennifer Christiansen (Jimmy) and Jason Lail (Caitlin), and four great grandchildren, Parker Donaldson, Willow Worsham, Colton Fletcher and Dixon Fletcher.
