C-2 Church Wednesday, November 28, 2018 The Press-Dispatch Continued from page 1 Church note deadline 10 A.M. EVERY TUESDAY Happiness starts with a wet nose and ends with a tail. This week PAWS is fea- turing a petite young gal named Marie, who is a very inquisitive, but shy canine that was aban- doned with another dog and brought to the shel- ter not long ago. She has some trust issues, due to being abandoned, but warms up nicely once she decides you are her friend. She is a terrier mix, has a glossy coat of short, black fur, is fun-loving, playful and will remain small. She weighs ap- proximately 25 lbs, spayed and has all her shots. Marie can be adopted, by calling 812-354-9894. Thought for the week: "For I am convinced that nei- ther death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor any- thing else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Ro- mans 8:38 -39). Be in prayer for the lost, the sick, our church, our country and leaders, and always each other. God's blessings on you this week. Try to be kind and show God's love, because every- one is fighting some kind of battle. If you don't have a church home, we invite you to any of our services. The family is the most important institution in the world. It was God's idea in the first place. It was not the invention of sociologists or economics or government bureaucrats who decided it would make society operate more smoothly. Families ex- isted before cities and gov- ernments, before written language, nations, temples and churches. In the home, character and integrity are formed, values are made clear and goals are set. These last a lifetime. And if they aren't formed correctly, that too will result in patterns, bad patterns, that last a lifetime, if God doesn't interfere. Today, Satan is attacking the family as never before. But where are our defenses against such attacks? If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. Your presence will be greatly ap- preciated and I am sure you will receive God's blessings. May God bless each and ev- eryone. What is your favorite part of the holiday season? Is it the family gatherings or the time off? Is it festiv- ities and the decorations? Is it the food? Many of us love the holiday season, thanks- giving through Christmas, for all those reasons above. However, for some of us, the holiday season is not so cheerful anymore. Some of these traditions may not be the same anymore, when our tables are miss- ing those close to us. Some this year may be faced with unsettling and life changing news around the holidays. My prayer however, is that we hold firm to Paul's charge to give thanks in all circum- stances, and that we remem- ber the Joy we have in Christ and that through him God is VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E.
