Poplar Street, Petersburg NEWS BRIEFS Pike County Library turns 95 this Thursday The Pike County Library Public Library will cele- brate 95 years in existence on Thursday, November 29 at the Petersburg Branch from 6 to 7 p.m. They will have various history displays and talk about their pro- posed expansion to the Petersburg branch. There will also be cake and another treat available. New Praise and Worship service at Hephzibah- Littles G.B. Church Thursday evenings The Hephzibah-Littles G.B. Church, 743 W. CR 125 S., Petersburg, will be starting a new Praise and Wor- ship service on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. at the Fel- lowship Hall. Community Prayer at Gathering Place, this Friday The Gathering Place, 207 Lafayette Street, Winslow, will be having a Community Prayer, Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. Speaker for the evening, and praise and worship will be lead by Tammy and Alyx Powers. Officials had previously estimated that the K-5 pub- lic charter school would have an ADM count of 80 students for the 2018 -19 school year. Based on the estimated ADM count of 80 students, the amount of state tuition support – $5,352 basic grant and $1,120.80 complexity grant per student as well as a $ 36,656 special education grant – was originally cal- culated at $554,480 for the 2018 -19 school year. Based on the official ADM count of 88 students, the amount of state tuition sup- port that Otwell Miller Acad- emy will receive during the 2018 -19 school year will be $ 606,262 – an increase of $51,782. According to a recalcula- tion notice issued by IDOE on Thursday, Nov. 15, Otwell Miller Academy – which re- ceived $46,206.67 in month- ly state tuition support dur- ing July, August, Septem- ber and October – will re- ceive $59,152.17 in monthly state tuition support during November and December. Starting in January and continuing through June, Otwell Miller Academy will receive $50,521.82 in month- ly state tuition support. According to a statement of financial income and ex- pense for the months of July, August and September pre- pared by Greggs and Reid, CPAs, of Sullivan, Otwell Miller Academy had a gross income of $180,516.30 and total expenses of $ 93,825.49 – resulting in a net operating income of $ 86,690.81. According to a statement of financial income and ex- pense for the month of Oc- tober prepared by Greggs and Reid, CPAs, Otwell Mill- er Academy had a gross in- come of $57,724.91 and to- tal expenses of $77,031.25 – resulting in a net operat- ing loss of $19,306.34 for the month. PCSC ADM COUNT SET AT 1,700 The official ADM count for the Pike County School Corporation was set at 1,700 students for the 2018 -19 school year. PCSC officials had previously projected an ADM count of 1,754 stu- dents for the 2018 -19 school year. Based on the estimated ADM count of 1,754 stu- dents, the amount of state tuition support – $5,352 ba- sic grant and $592.07 com- plexity grant per student as well as a $71,000 hon- ors grant, a $1,108,344 spe- cial education grant and a $432,060 career and techni- cal education (CTE) grant – was originally calculated at $12,030,062.68 for the 2018 - 19 school year. Based on the official ADM count of 1,700 students, the amount of state tuition sup- port that the Pike Coun- ty School Corporation will receive during the 2018 - 19 school year will be $11,708,809.10 – a decrease of $ 321,253.58. According to a recalcula- tion notice issued by IDOE on Thursday, Nov. 15, the Pike County School Cor- poration – which received $ 995,868.27 in state tu- ition support during July, $1,003,108.59 in state tuition support per month during August and September and $1,003,108.57 in state tuition support during October – will receive $ 922,590 in state tuition support during November and $ 922,863.58 in state tuition support dur- ing December. Starting in January and continuing through June, the Pike Central School Corporation will receive $ 976,360.24 in monthly state tuition support. "Funding will be adjusted again in December with the calculation of the CTE infor- mation and honors informa- tion, and in February, with the calculation of the (spe- cial education) information," said PCSC Superintendent Suzanne Blake.
