Be ye holy, do the will of God "Not everyone that saith unto me Lord, Lord, shall en- ter into the kingdom of heav- en, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say unto me in that day, Lord Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonder- ful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you. Depart from me ye that work iniquity, (Mat- thew 7:21-23, K JV ). Draw nigh unto God and he will draw nigh unto you, ( James 4:8, K JV ). Repent and love the lord with all your heart. Be born again of the Holy Spirit. Jesus loves us. He doesn't want anyone to perish. It's our choice – heaven or hell. It's God's good pleasure to give us a home in his kingdom. Welcome to our services. See our Facebook page Glezen Revival Center. Each day your fear would be magnified because you're one day closer to that fear being realized. The fear of death is a great example of this. For those who fear death, each day is more agonizing than the previous because they're one day closer to dying. Those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their replace- ment in death, have nothing to fear. Jesus already died in their place, so they don't have to face that eternal death. The Bible says that Christians fall asleep and wake up in glory. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be ab- sent from the body, and to be present with the Lord" (II Corinthians 5:8). "For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to re- ceive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him" (I Thessalonians 5:9 -10). He is my loving God and my fortress, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me" (Psalm 144:1-2). PETERSBURG FREE METHODIST CHURCH 202 E. Walnut Street Pastor 812-354-6646 Normal weekly schedule is as follows: Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m. with morn- ing worship starting at 10 :30 a.m.; Sunday night at 6 p.m., there is a casual Bible study; Wednesday evening, the chil- dren and youth ministries meet at 6:30 p.m. People seem to be respond- ing to a special move of God in our church and communi- ty. There is a renewed inter- est in people going overseas to share the gospel and allevi- ate suffering. Jesus said that the fields are ripe for harvest and that we are to pray for workers to go into the fields. An easier way to understand this is that there are lots of friends, neighbors, cowork- ers and friends who are ready to respond to the call of faith in Christ. We simply need to be obedient to the great com- mission and make disciples. Some of the disciples we need to make are as close as the person standing next to us, while others are peo- ple of other nations and rac- es who live on the other side of the world. The reality is that America is becoming a far more secular nation that is hostile to anything oth- er than a generalized spiri- tuality that makes no mor- al or social demands. Mean- while, the church is growing in leaps and bounds around the world…especially where Christians are being perse- cuted. If we are ever going to reach our neighbors and the world, it is going to have to start with Jesus changing us individually to walk as Je- sus walked. And, as Jesus changes us individually, our local churches will be trans- formed. When we and our churches are transformed, the heart and life changing Gospel will become more at- tractive to the people who need it most and the Holy Spirit will awaken in them a hunger to respond with a liv- ing faith. Stand strong and draw near to Jesus through prayer, ministry, worship, study of Scripture, and faithful and consistent attendance at your local church. But, take it a step farther. Become the type of person who makes the world around you hungry for the Gospel and be bold in your witness. Some of you know I am going to A frica to teach A f- rican military chaplains. Online there is a devotion- al and prayer guide that you can follow along with while I am overseas. It will guide you through the Scriptures I will be teaching that day to the Chaplains and give you a guide for focused prayer. The guide can be download- ed from the church website at petersburgfmc.org. Peace and joy in the Lord. Mark Schlechty, Pastor RUMBLETOWN FREE METHODIST CHURCH 1485 N. St. Rd. 57 Petersburg Pastor 812-354-8312 Adult Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday morn- ing worship at 10 :30 a.m. "And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Pe- ter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, 'Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.' They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their fa- ther, mending their nets. He called them, and immediate- ly they left the boat and their father, and followed Him" (Matthew 4:18 -22 NK JV ). Jesus still calls. Have you answered His call? Just as Elijah's servant saw a cloud like that of man's hand and Elijah said "run and go tell." Elijah outran his servant's chariot because the anoint- ing was upon Him. We see in the distance for our church that clouds are gathering on the horizon and blowing our way. We have prepared our- selves in the past in believ- ing by prayer and standing on God's Word. As we begin our build- ing project in a few weeks, we are believing for God to make a way in what may seem like a wilderness, but we can truly see the prom- ised land. Our God is not a man that He should lie. Pray for your country, our president and government, your local government, our soldiers and all pastors. Re- member to pray for the sick and afflicted, and those in the nursing homes and hos- pitals, and also pray about the elections.
