Riley placed fifth in the long jump competition with a leap of 18 feet, 3.5 inches and was fifth in the 200 -me- ter dash with a season-best time of 24.01 seconds, while Early was fifth in the pole vault competition with a season-best leap of 10 feet, 6 inches. The team of Benson, Boyd, McCord and senior Noah Scott placed fifth in the 1,600 -meter relay with a season-best time of 3:56.93, while the team of Benson, senior Earl Townsend and sophomores Caden Arm- strong and Jacob Bohnert placed fifth in the 3,200 -me- ter relay with a time of 10 :17.82. Several Chargers who did not place posted personal- best marks: • Armstrong had per- sonal-best times in the 1,600 -meter run (5:16) and the 3,200 -meter run (11:53). • Boyd had a season-best leap of 9 feet, 6 inches in pole vault. • Carpenter had a person- al-best time of 1:01.88 in the 400 -meter dash. • Dixon had a personal- best time of 12.28 seconds in the 100 -meter dash, and a season-best leap of 5 feet, 2 inches in high jump. • Johnson had a person- al-best time of 6:05 in the 1,600 -meter run. • Kirby had a personal- best time of 58.59 seconds in the 400 -meter dash, and a season-best leap of 16 feet, 9.5 inches in long jump. • Wilkison had a person- al-best time of 12.12 in the 100 -meter dash. • Sophomore Silas Goff had a season-best throw of 94 feet, 1 inch in discus. • Freshman Andrew Krieg had a season-best throw of 32 feet, 7 inches in shot put. • Sophomore Zach Pan- cake had a season-best throw of 34 feet, 4.5 inches in shot put. • Senior Adam Sendmey- er had a season-best time of 24.87 seconds in the 200 -me- ter dash. • Freshman Jacob Vest had a personal-best time of 1:03.87 in the 400 -meter dash. As a team, Pike Central scored a total of 42 points, trailing Jasper (156 points), Northeast Dubois (73) and Southridge (43). For- est Park was fifth with 37 points. "We had a lot of improve- ments in our performances from previous meets, which helped us place in sever- al events," Chargers head coach Chris Kramer said. "We finally had some good weather to have a meet in, and we also performed real- ly well with the added pres- sure of the big-meet atmo- sphere." Pike Central, which host- ed South Spencer on Mon- day, April 18, will return to action on Thursday, April 21, when the Chargers will par- ticipate in the Southridge In- vitational. Then, on Wednes- day, April 27, Pike Central will participate in the Princ- eton Invitational. McCord placed first in the 110 -meter high hurdles with a time of 16.66 sec- onds, first in the 300 -me- ter intermediate hurdles with a season-best time of 43.50 seconds, and first in high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 8 inches. McCord also teamed up with senior Dalton Riley, sophomore Adam Wilki- son and freshman Chris- tian Benson to place sec- ond in the 1,600 -meter re- lay with a season-best time of 3:49.24. Other Charges who post- ed first-place finishes were freshman Andrew Krieg in discus with a throw of 113 feet, 3 inches; sophomore Gavin Boyd in the 200 -me- ter dash with a personal- best time of 23.19 seconds; Benson in the 800 -me- ter run with a season-best time of 2:25.84; Riley in long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 1/2 inch; and sopho- more Caden Armstrong in the 3,200 -meter run with a time of 12:19.34. In addition, the team of Armstrong, Benson, sopho- more Jacob Bohnert and se- nior Earl Townsend placed first in the 3,200 -meter re- lay with a time of 10 :11.19; and the 400 -meter relay team of Boyd, Riley, Wilki- son and junior Jaylon Ow- ens placed first with a sea- son-best time of 45.00 sec- onds. Also placing second for the Chargers were Arm- strong in the 1,600 -me- ter run with a season-best time of 5:14; Bohnert in the 3,200 -meter run with a sea- son-best time of 13:02; Ri- ley in the 200 -meter dash with a season-best time of 23.56 seconds; soph- omore Baron Earley in the 300 -meter interme- diate hurdles with a sea- son-best time of 46.67 sec- onds; freshman Jade John- son in the 800 -meter run with a season-best time of 2:28.50 ; junior Cole Leighty in discus with a season-best throw of 108 feet, 6 inches; and sopho- more Zach Pancake in shot put with a throw of 35 feet, 2 inches. Placing third for the Chargers were Earley in pole vault with a leap of 10 feet; Leighty in shot put with a season-best throw of 39 feet, 10 inches; Ow- ens in the 100 -meter dash with a time of 11.75 sec- onds; Townsend in the 1,600 -meter run with a season-best time of 5:55 and in the 3,200 -meter run with a season-best time of 13:16.71; freshman Colton Carpenter in the 400 -me- ter dash with a season-best time of 1:00.84; and soph- omore Silas Goff in discus with a season-best throw of 98 feet, 7 inches. Also posting season-best performances but not plac- ing were: • Wilkison posted a sea- son-best time of 12.00 sec- onds in the 100 -meter dash. • Freshman Austin Dix- on posted a season-best time of 25.93 seconds in the 200 -meter dash. • Sophomore Lane Ridao posted a season- best time of 6:28 in the 1,600 -meter run. • Senior Noah Scott posted a season-best time of 1:01.00 in the 400 -me- ter dash. • Senior Adam Send- meyer posted a season- best time of 24.28 seconds in the 200 -meter dash. • Freshman Jacob Vest posted a season-best time of 26.62 seconds in the 200 -meter dash.
