The Press-Dispatch Church Wednesday, April 17, 2019 C- 3 MINUTES Continued from page 1 Continued in next column Continued in next column Continued from page 2 Continued on page 4 Independent Independent is not here: for He is risen" (Matt. 28:5,6). THE WITNESS OF THE LORD Luke records for us that the Lord showed Himself alive by many infallible proofs —undeniable, irre- futable proofs (Acts 1:3). In addition to the afore- mentioned witnesses, the Lord was seen by over 500 brethren at once in Galilee (Matt. 28:10 ; I Cor. 15:6). This was followed by per- haps the most credible ev- idence of all: He appeared to James and Paul, both of whom rejected Him before His resurrection. Paul's experience on the road to Damascus, when He saw the resurrected Christ, was similar to that of Thomas, who couldn't deny his senses and said, "My Lord and my God! " But there's still another infallible proof for those who believe: He lives in our heart by faith. Amen! LAST SUPPER Petersburg First UMC presents The Living Holy Thursday, April 18 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Petersburg First United Methodist Church 801 E. Convict the church in America to wake up spiritually, agree clearly, unite visibly and pray extraordinarily for the next great spiritual awakening in America to occur in our generation. Amen. So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and post- ing the guard." (Matthew 27:65 -66, NIV ). This verse is one of the story of our saviour Jesus, and how even though they sealed and posted guards outside the tomb, he still rose from the dead. Not only does this verse tell us how much God loves us and cares for us, but it is also a lesson to remind us that God conquers all through love. There is no situation too bad or circumstance too hard for him to handle. The devil will try to block every path to your freedom from bondage, but God can help you through every strong- hold. He loves you so much that he sent his son to die for you. So never forget that you are always loved. Happy Easter! God bless you and keep you. We welcome you to all services. In Deuteronomy, Moses is reminding the people about their behavior, what it should and shouldn't be. Chapter 12 reminds me of church attendance and fel- lowship. Our church should be a place where we see God dwelling and active, a place where we attend regular- ly for tithing, learning the Word, obtaining encour- agement, and worshiping the Lord. (Not just for hol- iday attendance). Verse 19 reminds me "not to neglect the Levite" in my land, which is the pas- tor and elders or teachers in our church(es). I pierced those sacred hands and feet that never touched or walked in sin; I broke the heart that only beat. The souls of sinful men to win.
