Postcards this week at Sweets Column Winslow, IN 47598 were none but a point of interest is: We wrote last week about Kim Messmer and I'm so glad I got to see Kim on Times Square Jum- botron on Facebook with Mary Kay under her pic- ture. Kim is a big part of the Mary Kay Products and on December 2, Mark and Kim are invited to view her pic- ture on the Jumbotron in Times Square in New York City – The Big Apple and we wish Kim more congrats on representing Mary Kay to everyone. Last week was chilly, but then it warmed up by the weekend, we still had some cold, cold nights, but the weather was nice. Last week was also the start for all our families and friends to give thanks for the year that was given. I would like to say my year was really great and it continues even now, but I hope it doesn't go away. We do hope all our stars had something to give Thanks for and your year was also great in some way. This year, Norm and I got together with Vernon and Dixie with her, dog Roscoe, and ate Thanksgiving din- ner. The turkey fell off the bones, the sweet potatoes had the marshmallows on them, the gravy with giblets that come with the turkey. Have your giblets only had the heart, gizzard, and liver? I would like to have had the knock also. The pumpkin pies of four was made from one of the big pumpkins I won in the Spurgeon Festi- val this year. I still have plen- ty of cooked and uncooked pumpkin left, but I also have another big pumpkin to pre- pare for more pies. We also had apple salad, California blend vegetables, cooked cranberry sauce, dressing, biscuits and sodas to drink. It was a lovely day for a get together with friends and we had some time to enjoy the meal before Vernon and Dix- ie had to leave for an engage- ment. Norm and I cleaned up and in no time we were out to see friends Tim and Jea- nette. Before we went home we drive around Winslow to see the Christmas dec- orations sometimes put up this year before Thanksgiv- ing but anyway we did see one yard in Goosehill, one yard in East End, and one house in Brownstown ex- cept for Janie who decorated for Thanksgiving but soon it will also be changed over to Christmas.
