(Shady) Ross, 81, of Francisco, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 27, 2017. Shady, as he was known by many, was born Decem- ber 11, 1935, to Oscar and Ona (Burton) Ross. He and his "Baby Doll," Margaret (Hamilton) Ross, were married on June 6, 1958, and she survives. He served in the Army and National Guard. He was deployed to Germany, where he served with Elvis Pres- ley. A fter his military ser- vice, he returned to Fran- cisco and was a farmer un- til his retirement. In addition to his wife, al- so surviving are two daugh- ters, Debra (Dale) Ludwig, of Rockport, Sondra (Bruce) Haines, of Oakland City; one son, Oscar (Bo) ( Jessi- ca) Ross, of Haubstadt; six grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; one brother, Bill(Rosie) Ross, of Oakland City; and two sisters, Mary Miller, of Sebring, Fla., and Shirley ( Jake) Woolsey, of Darmstadt. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Ross; and two sis- ters, Dean Thomson and Snofa Hanes. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Francisco Gen- eral Baptist Church, with Rev. Katheryn Webb offici- ating. Burial will take place in Francisco Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. until services on Saturday at the church. "Women's Support Group" helps women with the journey through cancer and beyond. Memorial Hos- pital and Health Care Center is now offering this class in two evening sessions. The next class will be on Tues- days, December 5 and 12 from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. in the Health and Wellness Classroom at Memorial Southside Office, 1100 West 12th Avenue in Jasper. This American Heart Association course provides information on how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes of an emergency until profession- al help arrives. Skills taught include CPR, AED use, re- lief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking. In order to complete the course and receive a course completion card, participants must pass a written first aid test and successfully complete a skills evaluation in CP T and AED. Pre-registration is required, as class size is limited. Cost is $ 85 and the class requires pre-payment.
