South Gibson Star-Times A-4 Tuesday, November 1, 2022 LOCAL St. James PTA plans inclusive playground St. James P TA is working to build an all-inclusive play- ground. They are currently doing multiple fundraisers to get money for this project. For Dwarfism Awareness Day, St. James hosted future student Macie Kern, age 5, who will begin at school next year. The school took a group picture with her to bring awareness to the playground. They are so excited for this project, reported P TA Pres- ident Christy Karcher. The playground will benefit so many in their community, Karcher said, adding it will have handicap swings and lots STEM playground equipment. "As far as we know we will be the only all-inclusive play- ground in Gibson County." The shirts the students are wearing were designed by Macies family to bring aware- ness and sold and the profit made goes to St. James Play- ground Fund. The shirts can be ordered at the link below until Nov. 11 at MightyMa- cie2022.itemorder.com/. Macie posed for pictures with her family the stu- dents and staff at St. James. Olivia Luigs, a current student at St. James also and she is the one in the wheelchair.
