In Noah's day, anarchy and hedo- nistic revelry ruled the day. Civilized society was break- ing down because lawlessness was king. God told Noah the end of humanity was in sight. Man was at the brink of annihila- tion. Today's news headlines are ominous. Anarchists are tearing America apart with their crazed defund the police movement, the normalization and celebration of perversion, and immigrant invasion. Major geopolitical and economic shifts are taking place. A new world order is on the horizon. The war between Russia and the West led NATO is getting hotter by the hour. Government talking heads are all over Cable and Network T V predicting we are closing in on the point of no return- -nuclear war appears inevita- ble. The Doomsday Clock's hands stand at 100 seconds to midnight. I am not a doomsayer because Jesus tells me not to fear the man who can kill the body but not the soul. He says not to fear evil doers. Christ said not to be afraid about the future because he will be there. I am not to worry about what I will eat, drink, or where I will sleep. Jesus said not to be trou- bled when I hear of wars and rumors of wars. I am to stay alert and be ready for his return. To keep my light burning brightly. He prom- ises to be with me all the way. Jesus said when you see all these bad things happen- ing, "look up and lift up your heads, because your redemp- tion draws near." Noah's neighbors ignored Noah's pleading and perished. History is repeating itself. There really is a fire in the theater and no one is paying attention. Jesus said a storm unlike the world has ever experienced is on the way; and unless God shortens the day, there would be no flesh left. The return of Jesus is close. Wise Christians know Jesus will come when no one is look- ing for him. Like a thief in the night, Jesus will suddenly appear. Jesus said if you know the thief is coming, you will be ready. God has forewarned us. POINTS Continued from page 6 us the eternal consequences of this sin through the blood of Jesus Christ. "…While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Now about being "back home again in Indiana" and away from "those" sinners. I am reminded that the judg- ment of God strikes closer than the streets of New Orle- ans. The judgment of God begins in my own heart, for there He sees my sin. And not just the act, but the poten- tial for evil that is there. And He says, "You therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judg- ment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things." (Romans 2:1) Thank God that your judg- ments are not God's judg- ments. Thank God that He does not treat us as our sins deserve. Thank God that "… He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repen- tance." (2 Peter 3:9) INSIGHT Continued from page 6
