Mark Wade, Deacon FIRST CHRIS- TIAN CHURCH 1400 E. Main Street Petersburg 812-354-6775 Have you ever wondered in the midst of some critical time your life: "God, where are you? " You're not alone. Many of the well-known individuals we read about in Scripture felt the same way. It was not that they doubted God, but in the moment as humans, they not only wondered, but sometimes articulated their plea for God's presence and action. David, the shepherd boy who became King is a per- fect example. David's life was like a roller-coaster. His rela- tionship with God, particular- ly as a young man, was up and down. As David matured as a man, there were times, proba- bly because of the baggage he carried, that he felt as though God had abandoned him. God was present all the time. David just needed to open his eyes to see and his ears to hear of God's assurance. When Moses had led the children of Israel out of their bondage, they reached the bor- ders of the "promised land" God had promised. Moses reminded Joshua, who now would lead God's people, of the promise of God, "Never will I leave you or forsake you". Wherever your life takes you, always seek God. He will never abandon you in whatever need and challenge you face. Worship with us this Sunday VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E. Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this tem- ple made with human hands and in three days will build an- other, not made with hands.'" Yet even then their testimony did not agree. Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you? " But Je- sus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Bless- ed One? " "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses? " he asked. "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think? " They all condemned him as worthy of death. (Mark 14:57-64). Joe Henson, Pastor Matt Haycraft, Reporter JESUS CHRIST OUR FIRM FOUNDATION 1415 N. Any Final Words? There were two men who knew their lives were coming to a close. They knew they were to die for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Both men wanted to give some last words of warning and instruc- tion to the people they loved before their death. You can read the content of these let- ters in II Timothy and II Peter. I am confident that these let- ters have much to say to you. They contain the words of life from dying men. TWIN OAKS CHURCH 1911 E. Co. Rd. 650 N. Hannah brought her frustrations to the Lord. She prayed in her pain. She prayed when she was misunder- stood. She kept praying even when the preacher misunder- stood and misjudged her. She kept praying when there was no assurance that things would ev- er really be any different. Of all the blessings that you thank God for, stop now and thank God especially if you had a praying mother. If you are a mother, stop this min- ute and ask God to help you in your "closet assignments." Bat- tles that affect the destiny of nations are won and lost in the prayer closets of praying moth- ers. Let's be faithful in this ar- ea, even if we fail in some oth- ers. Everyone is welcome to each service. God Bless America. Clark Gray, Pastor Doris Catt, Reporter MINUTES Continued from page 1 as well agree with the mur- derer who argued: "My feet and legs didn't do it; my ears and nose didn't do it; only my one hand and one or two oth- er parts of my body did it, so the rest should go free." We believers in Christ should thank God that our blessed Lord took upon Him our just desserts when He died for our sins at Calvary. This is why God's Word says: "We declare, I say, at this time, His righteousness for the remission of sins… that [God] might be just, and the Justifier of him that believeth in Jesus. "Where is boasting then? It is excluded" (Romans 3:25 - 27).
