"This is an amazing opportunity for our students, school, and community," Brittney Bies- terveld, of the Guidance Department, said. "The feedback from all parties was phenomenal. So ma- ny of our students were overjoyed at the amount of companies in their backyard that they may one day have the chance to be a part of. Our school was able to make connections that will further aid a multitude of our programs and help encourage our students for years to come. The positive feed- back doesn't stop there, the companies and insti- tutions that attended have been overwhelmingly supportive and encouraging. There are many that have shown interest in visiting one-on-one for fur- ther discussions and presentations. Ultimately, we are already looking forward to welcoming all companies back and having an even bigger event next year. A goal of ours is to offer a College Fair in the Fall and continue with our Career Fair in the Spring." Below: Jacob Shimer and Braxton DeWeese speak with Bonnie Wininger, of Ridetech, about what her compa- ny does and offers employees during the Career Fair at Pike Central High School. Pike Central held a Career Fair for all students in grades nine through 12 on Thursday for the first time in a couple of years. The previous two years, the fair was canceled due to COVID. "We were overjoyed to offer it once again," Brittney Biesterveld, who organized the fair with her co-worker Caren Richeson, on behalf of the Guidance Department." Approximately 39 companies/institutions participated in the fair for the day and edu- cated students on the endless possibilities available to them within our local communities.
