Frank Renner, Pastor Rev. Mark Wade, Deacon FIRST CHRIS- TIAN CHURCH 1400 E. Main Street Petersburg 812-354-6775 There's a wonderful passage of scripture found in the book of Romans, chapter 12, verses 9 – 21. I will share some of that passage today. "(9) Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. (10) Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above your- selves. (11) Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. (12) Be joyful in hope, patient in af- fliction, faithful in prayer. (13) Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hos- pitality." These verses say much that we in today's world need to hear and practice. Many of today's problems could be solved if this passage is em- braced for living. Worship with us this Sun- day as we continue our series in Mark's gospel. This week we'll study chapter 2. Help yourself to "FREE FOOD" and may God Bless all of you. If it hadn't been for God calling Jacob to become the twelve tribes or the nation of Israel, we gentiles would have never known about Yahweh, the one and only true living God. Paul tells us that us gen- tiles were grafted in and prom- ised a place in His family—Ro- mans 11:17. This makes me wonder why us gentiles here in America don't fly an Israeli flag along side of our American flag. Here in Pike County, I have seen (only) three of such flag poles. This scares me into thinking that the Bible believ- ers here in our area don't be- lieve that Israel (THE JEWS) is God's chosen people. If we as Bible believing Christians don't stand up and announce that America must stand behind Israel, then we are in a world of hurt. "I will bless those who bless you, and curse him that curs- es you" (Genesis 12:3). My prayer is to someday see the Israeli flag flying along side our American flag on the same pole every where. This will show our thanks and ap- preciation to Israel for helping us to know their God. Then some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this tem- ple made with human hands and in three days will build an- other, not made with hands.'" Yet even then their testimony did not agree. Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you? " But Je- sus remained silent and gave no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Bless- ed One? " "I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." The high priest tore his clothes. "Why do we need any more witnesses? " he asked. "You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think? " They all condemned him as worthy of death. (Mark 14:57-64). May 3-8, Spring Reviv- al with Evangelist: Rev. Joey Pyle. God's Word Will Stand "What has happened to a na- tion that used to fear the Lord, to a people whose foundation was built upon God's word. We've allowed the world's opinion to chart a different way. But it's time the church of Jesus Christ should bold- ly stand and say, God's word will stand against the rag- ing tide, of those who criti- cize and work their evil plans. God's word will stand against the gates of hell. With power to prevail in the hearts of men, God's word will stand. They can take it from the court- house walls, remove it from the schools, teach our chil- dren that we're animals. Speak against the golden rule. Try and hide our Christian heri- tage from the public eye. But they'll never overcome God's word no matter how they try. It is forever settled, to evermore endure. It's the only way a sin- ner's heart can ever be made pure. God's word will stand"— Leonard Fletcher. Chad Searls, Pastor Allen Parks, Reporter TWIN OAKS CHURCH 1911 E. Co. Rd. 650 N. Petersburg 812-354-6389 Sunday school, Junior church and youth class 9:30 a.m.; morn- ing worship 10:30 a.m.; evening service 6 p.m.; Wednesday eve- ning prayer and praise service 7 p.m. Almost without exception, when God prepares to save a nation, he will begin with a praying mother. Hannah brought her frustrations to the Lord. She prayed in her pain. She prayed when she was mis- understood. She kept praying even when the preacher mis- understood and misjudged her. She kept praying when there was no assurance that things would ever really be any different. Of all the blessings that you thank God for, stop now and thank God especially if you had a praying mother. If you are a mother, stop this min- ute and ask God to help you in your "closet assignments." Battles that affect the desti- ny of nations are won and lost in the prayer closets of pray- ing mothers. Let's be faithful in this area, even if we fail in some others. Everyone is welcome to each service. God Bless America. Clark Gray, Pastor Doris Catt, Reporter UNION COMMUNITY CHURCH 3082 N.
