South Gibson Star-Times Opinion Tuesday, April 12, 2022 A-11 = America's Big Media don't report facts, don't speak up when censors are wrong and don't remove mistakes when they're caught making them. Apologizing for mistakes is something we teach little kids to do. Is that too much to ask of our media and social media giants? John Stossel is creator of Stossel TV and author of "Give Me a Break: How I Ex- posed Hucksters, Cheats, and Scam Artists and Became the Scourge of the Liberal Media." nate 80 percent of the world's cheap and abundant energy sources than to bring power to the world's poorest regions and institute an inexpensive and promising technology that could cut the number of droughts by half or more. It almost seems they don't want these innovative and nonintrusive solutions to work. Free markets and technology may help save the world from doomsday, but they won't overturn a century of progress in hu - man welfare and won't make the green energy lobby rich Stephen Moore is a senior fellow at Freedom Works. He is also author of the new book: "Govzilla: How The Relentless Growth of Government Is De- vouring Our Economy." free-market investment into new green energy projects. When it comes to ener- gy policy, the group on the "right" is calling for more do- mestic oil, gas and coal pro- duction now, while the group on the "left" is calling for more green energy produc- tion now. Somewhere in the middle, a group is calling for more "all of the above" ener- gy production, including nu- clear. Ironically, none of it will be possible until we get serious about cutting red tape. If public policy leaders will once and for all come to- gether around this issue and slash red tape, they will de- liver a better present and a more prosperous—and se- cure—future for the Amer- ican people. It's time for solutions. More importantly, it is time for action. James Jay Carafano is a leading expert in national se- curity and foreign policy chal- lenges. 'The Charmer' headlines Gibson County Fair The Gibson County Fair will contin- ue its rich history of hosting a national- ly known music artist at this year's fair. Headlining the 166th Gibson County Fair this year is Ernest. Ernest will take the stage at 8 p.m. on July 15th, at the fair- grounds in Princeton Indiana. Nashville's most unpredictable hit maker ERNEST is "The Charmer" (Mu- sicRow), a triple threat talent and one of Music City's on the rise artist/writers that's changing the status quo. As a chart-topping songwriter, he fus- es influences ranging from Eminem to George Jones, creating a twist-heavy verse style that's become his signature, proving its mettle, and earning him five #1 hits to date. The eccentric free spirit launched his debut single to country radio "Flower Shops" feat. Morgan Wallen in January to 88 first week stations, the #1 most add- ed single of the week, and was Top 25 af- ter just six weeks. His debut full-length album of the same name- FLOWER SHOPS (THE AL - BUM) –is out now, showing off the more classically country side of his craft. ERNEST appeared alongside 90s country legend David Lee Murphy and label-mate Ben Burgess on HIXTAPE: Vol. 2 track "Red Dirt Clouds" last fall, and his podcast, Just Being ERNEST, is in its fourth season, hosting guests like Keith Urban, Diplo, Jason Aldean, Bob- by Bones and Craig Wiseman, with ma- ny more to come.
