Key Gibson County Commissioner District 1 DNR floats new survey technique for lake users Users of Big Lake (Noble County), Bryant Creek Lake (Monroe County), and Prairie Pond (Pike County) can share their opinions on their experi- ence with DNR via a new on- line survey. The survey is for all users of these lakes, not just anglers. The survey asks questions about a user's day at the lake and their satisfaction regard- ing access, cleanliness, and fishing opportunities. Signs displaying a QR code have been placed near the ac- cess sites at each lake. Users access the survey by opening the camera app on their mo- bile phone and holding it over the QR code for a few seconds until the survey notification pops up. When it does, they can tap on the notification to open the survey. By Andy Heuring Star-Times Sports sports@sgstartimes.com Gibson Southern had some strong performances in the Tri-State Invitational track meet at Princeton on Sat- urday. There were no team scores kept, but the Titans won three events in the 10 team meet on the boys side and one on the girls. Sloan Cox and Hank Kissel showed their dominance as they placed first and second, both, the shot put and discus. Cox won the shot put with a throw that was five feet short of his seasons best, with a toss of 5'33". Kissel was sec- ond with 4'51". In the discus Cox won with 138'8" and Kissel was second with 131'7". The other winner for the boys was Ethan Spindler in the high jump at 5'8". In the 100 Titan, Michael Herron was second at 12.01 and Daniel Thomas third at 12.21. Hayden Pennington placed second in the 1600 at 4:44.89, and in the 3200 at 10 :22.43. Chris Spear had his best time of the year in the 110 hur- dles at 17.77 for second place, teammate Lucian Wicker was fourth at 18.11. They were re- versed in the 300 hurdles with Wicker in third 46.06 and Spear fourth 46.41. Cooper Maurer ran a 2:09.61 for second in the 800. Lucas Kissel finished fourth in 2:11.69. The Titan 4 x 800 relay team placed second in a time of 8:58.56. The 4 x 100 relay was third in 47.18 and the 4 x 400 relay team was fourth in 3:48.16. On the girls side Chloey Graham won the discus with a toss of 97'. Miah Roesch had the La- dy Titans lone second place finish. She ran at 53.11 in the 300 hurdles. The 4 by 800 re- lay team placed second in a time of 10 :52.95. Third place finishers for the Titans were: Hailey Rich- ter in the 400 at 1:06.86, and the long jump at 14'4.75". The 4 x 100 relay team and the 4 x 400 relay teams both finished third. Fourth place finishers for the Lady Titans were Ella Jones in the 200 with a time of 28.86, she was also fifth in the 100 at 13.99. Taylor Hart ran a 2:37 in the 800 to place fourth. Titans have strong showing in Tri-State Invitation track meet Cox's toss of 58'5' beat his week-old school record by nearly four feet. He also won the discus. Hank Kiesel was second, with Brock Fauquher third and Jackson Redding fourth, all breaking 40'. They had the same top four in the discus, except Brodey Toy placed third. Hayden Pennington won the 1600 in 4:41 and followed with a win in the 3200 in 10 :43. Gibson Southern won the 4x800 relay with the team of Ethan Spindler, Alex Spin- dler Lucas Kissel and Cooper Maurer. They also won the 4x100 re- lay in 45.60 with Michael Her- ren, Sean DeLong, Macade Chandler and Daniel Thomas. Other individuals winning events were Michael Herron in the 100 in 11.44. A step back was Daniel Thomas in 11.47 in second place. Thomas was al- so second in the 200 with a time of 23.91. Lucian Wicker won the 300 hurdles in 43.77. Chris Spear was third in 45.03 and second in the 110 hurdles at 17.23. Beau Rose won the pole vault for Gibson Southern at 9'6". He also placed third in the long jump.
