Help yourself to "FREE FOOD" and may God Bless all of you. Sometimes life seems like we have nothing but a bas- ket full of rotten apples. Each day just seems to get harder and more difficult. This is be- cause we are living in a fall- en world. Just look around at what's going on in this world. How quick it is changing (for the worse I feel). Even with believers in Christ we are in a constant battle, between our spirit and our flesh. Jesus Himself told us, it wouldn't be easy. Matthew 16:24, He tells us to deny ourselves and to take up our cross and follow Him. And even if we do this, we are still going to have sor- row and pain. But when Je- sus died for us on the Calva- ry cross, He paid the price for our sin debt in full. He had finished what the Father sent Him to do. And if we believe this and accept Lord Jesus in our lives and our hearts, then the Holy Spirit will come into play and help us to fight these battles day by day. It's nice to know that we are just passing through this life here on earth, and that our real home is with Jesus in Heaven. John 14:2,3 tells us this. Feb. 24-27: Youth Conven- tion with Evangelist: Rev. Steve Malone. "When the Son of Man com- eth, shall He find faith on the Earth? " Jesus asked this question at the end of a parable con- cerning a widow that would not stop asking and wouldn't take no for an answer and just before He gave the parable of the Pharisee and the publican praying in the Temple. (Read Luke 18:1-14). There is a stark contrast between the Pharisee, who is self-righteous and self-serving and the widow and the publi- can who were humble and des- perate. There was nothing in the prayer of the Pharisee that required even an ounce of faith, yet he prayed. The prayers of the widow and the publican were that of humility, helplessness and desperation; everything about their prayers required faith. James said "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" James 5:16b. God help us to under- stand the urgency of the hour, add fervency to our prayer and increase our faith. "God designed us in His image and with emotions. Our tears for others reveal deep love and compassion, not necessarily a lack of faith. We can approach God with raw wounds or old scars be- cause He knows we feel. Each prayer, whether silent, sobbed, or shouted with confidence, demonstrates our trust in His promise to hear and care for us"—Xochitl Dixon. What emotion have you tried to hide from God? Why is it often hard to be honest with God about diffi- cult or overwhelming emo- tions? "Unchanging Father, thank You for assuring me that You know I feel and need to pro- cess my ever-changing emo- tions" —Amen. Josh Sanders, Pastor Sherry Julian, Reporter
