They fol- lowed up that quarter with their biggest scoring quar- ter of the game, effectively upping the heat by scoring 17 points. They pulled out two three-pointers, one by junior Kahle Young and the other by sophomore Brai- ley Mills, along with two two-pointers by senior Mal- lory Hunt and several free throws. The Lady Chargers defeated the Barr-Reeve Vi- kings by a score of 47-39. They were lead in scor- ing by Hunt, who tallied 19 points. Following her was Mills with 16 points, Kahle Young with six points, se- nior Kya Sullivan with four points and sophomore Anna Whitehead with two points scored during the game. Coach Kyle McCutchan said, "The girls had a long break between games, but battled against Barr Reeve and got a good win. Mallo- ry Hunt and Brailey Mills carried the offensive load, while Kahle Young hit a big three late in the game to give us the lead and we pulled away." JUNIOR VARSITY The junior varsity team also played the Vikings Fri- day night at Pike Central, losing by a score of 29 -23. The JV battled with the Vikings through the first half of the game, tying them in the first quarter of the game 4-4. In the third quarter of the game, the JV came out more determined than ever before, and scored 10 points that quarter, only letting through two free throws by the Vikings. Unfortunate- ly, those two free throws meant that they were still two points behind, but through the fight, they were catching up to Barr-Reeve. Then the fourth quarter came and the JV fought hard, but were unable to keep up their scoring pace. By the end of the quarter, the Vikings had tallied six points over the Chargers and took the game win.
