Poplar Street, Petersburg Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday JACK R. FULCHER Jack R. Fulcher, 80, of Pe- tersburg, passed away on Fri- day, December 3, 2021, at Jas- per Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 8, 1941, to Randall and Mabel (McCraney) Fulcher. He owned and operated Jack's Carpet in Petersburg for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Petersburg VFW Hon- or Guard and attended Twin Oaks Church. He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Heather) Fulcher and Ed- die Fulcher; daughters, Kristi Fulcher and Julie (Tony) Cas- sady; sister, Jeanne Ledger- wood; and several grandchil- dren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jerry, Jimmy, David, Ronald, Judi and Susie. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, De- cember 8, 2021, at Twin Oaks Church in Petersburg, with burial following at Twin Oaks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. Wilhite, 79, caring husband, father, granddad- dy and friend, passed away on December 6, 2021, in his hometown of Petersburg. He was born to Richard and Bernice Wilhite on June 4, 1942, and spent his entire life in Pike County. He graduated from Peters- burg High School and worked at Indianapolis Power and Light. He was an avid garden- er and a lifelong member of the Petersburg Moose Lodge #1617. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary; his daugh- ter, Jamie Chapman; and his granddaughter, Taelyn Quin Chapman. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bonnie and Faye; his brother, Jack; and his son, Bradley Paul. Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Pleas- ant Ridge Cemetery. STEVEN LEE WINES Steven Lee Wines, 61, of Winslow, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Campus in Jasper. He was born on January 27, 1960, in Mattoon, Ill., to Noble and Edith Sexton. He married Linda Mae Wicke. He served in the Unit- ed States Navy from 1977 to 1983. He drove semi-trucks for many years. He enjoyed Star Trek and other sci-fi films. He built log homes with his best buddy, Darrell Elliott. He is survived by one daugh- ter, Becky (Kevin) Snyder, of Tullahoma, Tenn.; one step- daughter, Jessica ( John) Haw- kins, of Bicknell; four sisters, Debbie (Orvel) Woolard, of Terre Haute, Va., Leonard and Jeanie Guymon, both of Mat- toon, Ill., and Jeri (Samuel) Kemp, of Holt Summit, Mo.; one brother, David Wines, of Pierre, S.D.; and two grand- children. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife; one son, Mark Lachlan Wines; three sisters, Margie McDonald, Sunny Dole and Betty Phil- lippi; and one brother, Larry Wines. PATRICIA ANN HILLIGOSS Patricia Ann Hilligoss, 91, of Oakland City, entered rest on Nov. 26, 2021, at Amber Manor Care Center in Peters- burg. She was born on Sept. 27, 1933, in Gibson County, to Harold and Emily (Russell) Chappell. She graduated from Indi- ana University with a BS in Science and later obtained her masters. She was a re- tired fourth grade teacher from Washington Township in Indianapolis, a member of Good Shepherd United Meth- odist Church D.A.R. and was very involved in several char- ities for animals. She dearly loved her three Corgis. She is survived by her son, Brian(Kay) Hilligoss, of Green Bay, Wisc.; sister- in-law. Marilyn Chappell, of Greensburg; a niece; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Hilligoss; and a brother, Har- old Chappell. She requested no formal services take place. GIULIA ALVEY Giulia Alvey, 104, of Jasper, formerly of Augusta, entered rest on Nov. 18, 2021, at St. Charles Health Campus, sur- rounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 14, 1917, to Gaskell and Bernice (Heacock) Corn at her home in Augusta. During her lifetime, she worked at the Airplane Plant in Evansville during W WII, Five and Dime Store in Oak- land City and Winslow Ele- mentary School. She was a member of the Jasper Congre- gation of Jehovah's Witness. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two broth- ers, Ronald Corn, in 1990, and Durward Corn, in 1991; her son, James Keith Tooley, in 2012; and two great-grand- children, Ebony Star, in Jan 2009, and Aiden Eugene, in Feb. 2021. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria (Donald) McCool, of Mt Carmel, Ill., and Donna Alvey Galliani, of Omak, Wash.; son, Tom (Nan- cy) Alvey, Sr., of Oakland City; daughter-in-law, Charlene Tooley, of Evansville; grand- children, Rachel (Michael) McGee, of Colorado Springs, Co., Donald McCool, of Mt. CYNTHIA LYNN HARRISON Cynthia Lynn Harrison, 58, of Petersburg, passed away at home, with her children by her side, on December 5, 2021, at 5:18 a.m. She was born September 29, 1963, to Jack and Peggy How- ard. She was called Cindy or Soup by most everyone close to her. She graduated from Greencastle High School in 1981 and got her degrees from Cincinnati Bible Sem- inar (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Sinclair Community College (Dayton, Ohio). Her biggest joy was being Nana to Wesley and a mother to her three girls. She signed "I love you" to her kids and grandchild always. She played the piano for the First Chris- tian Church, where she was a member, and for the Pike Cen- tral High School Swing Choir. She loved playing for the choir and using her music major. She really loved everyone, she invited everyone over and she would say "the door is al- ways open." She battled breast cancer for a long time, but that nev- er stopped her from giving out all her love. She is survived by her three daughters, Marissa (Stuart) Davis, Margaret Harrison, and Mikayla Harrison; her grandson, Wesley; and her siblings, John Howard and Ro- chelle Woolsey. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Decem- ber 11, 2021, at the Petersburg First Christian Church. Buri- al will be at Old Westchester Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the spring. To offer reas- surance and comfort, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center has developed a free support program called "Grief Support Series." In this program, participants will learn that grief is nor- mal, examine the various emotions of grief, be encouraged to face the pain, and find ways to make a healthy emotional withdrawal from the loss. Conducting the sessions will be Theresa O'Bryan, Hospital Chaplain, and Tom Holsworth, a clinical psychologist who has served as a co-facilitator of this program since its inception in 1991.
