Carver appointed to Memorial Hospital staff Keith Carver, D.M.D., M.D., M.S. was recently ap- pointed to the active medical staff at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. He joins Drs. Lokender Bommisetty, Amy Wigand, and Michael Wohlberg as a musculoskel- etal radiologist in the Radiol- ogy Department at Memorial Hospital. Dr. Carver received his medical degree from the Med- ical University of South Car- olina College of Medicine in Charleston. He has also re- ceived a doctor of dental med- icine at the Medical Universi- ty of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in Charles- ton. In addition, he complet- ed a master of science in oral biology with a certificate in endodontics at The Ohio State University College of Dentist- ry in Columbus. Dr. Carver completed a transitional year residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He com- pleted a diagnostic radiolo- gy residency and a musculo- skeletal imaging fellowship at The Ohio State Universi- ty Wexner Medical Center, where he earned Resident of the Year and Fellow Teach- er of the Year. He is a mem- ber of the Society of Skeletal Radiology, Radiological Soci- ety of North American, the American Roentgen Ray So- ciety, and the American Col- lege of Radiology. Dr. Carver and his wife, Leslie, have two children, a son, Sam, 12, and a daughter, Maddie, 6. Dr. Keith Carver Christian Duncheon, M.D. Duncheon appointed to Memorial Hospital staff Christian Duncheon, M.D. was recently appointed to the active medical staff at Memo- rial Hospital and Health Care Center. He will serve as a phy- sician in the Emergency De- partment. Elementary open house is August 5 Barton Township Elemen- tary will host an open house on August 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. This will be an informal "come and go" as you select anytime during that hour to drop by and meet your child's teacher, see his or her classroom and leave your child's supplies. A cafeteria representative will be available to answer any questions or concerns about lunch. Student lunches will be at no charge again this year for every student, but ap- plications must be completed for textbook assistance. Online registration will be- gin on Thursday, August 5. Commissioners in search of cybersecurity coverage By Janice Barniak Gibson County Commis- sioners voted to move forward with seeking $2 million in cy- bersecurity coverage, double the previous $1 million cover- age, and working with their in- surance company and Parrish Consulting to move to a two- part security system, similar to what the banks use. The insurance company will no longer do a policy for only $1 million. "They're settling million dollar cases daily," said Coun- ty Attorney Jason Spindler. The Gibson County Council will have to approve the addi- tional appropriation, however. Man charged with disorderly conduct On July 30, at 8:06 p.m., Gib- son County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a dis- turbance in the 10000 block of East 125 South. Deputy Bryce Jutzi, of the Gibson County Sheriff's Office, and Oakland City Officer John Pace, of the Oakland City Police Depart- ment, were dispatched to the scene and attempted to inves- tigate the 911 call. However, 63-year-old Larry Banks, of Oakland City, would not co- operate with the investiga- tion due to his level of intoxi- cation. Ultimately, Deputy Jut- zi placed Banks into cus- tody and trans- port- ed him to the Gibson Coun- ty Jail, where he was charged with disorderly con- duct. Banks has since posted a $550 bond. Larry Banks 4-H Fair Car Show proclaims victors During the Pike County 4-H Fair, on Sat- urday, July 31, the Car Show was hosted and named its victors for this year's grand show of antique and newer cars. The May- or's Choice winner was Gene Keepes with his red 1964 Studebaker - Hawk Model. Queen's Choice by 2021 Miss Pike Coun- ty Libby Stone was Troy Carter, from El- letsville, Ind., with his yellow 1969 Chevy Camaro.
