PC volleyball bests Rebels and Rivet Just like Charger vol- leyball head coach Steph- anie Shedd said about a comeback after defeating Eastern and South Knox in their round robin last week, the girls won in four sets to South Spencer on Wednesday and then spelled win in three sets over Vincennes Rivet. Coach Shedd com- mented, "The entire team played together against Rivet. Everyone played their role, but also encour- aged each other on the court. Even players on the bench were helping by call- ing balls 'out' and cheer- ing for each earned point. This was the best match we have played so far. I am excited for our team as we go into tomorrow's game and as we approach sec- tionals with so much mo- mentum and confidence. Coach McKinney and I are so proud of the way the team came together on the Tell City football game canceled Friday's Pike Central High School Charger foot- ball contest with the Tell City Marksmen has been canceled, according to a message from Pike Cen- tral High School athlet- ic director Dustin Powell. Asked about the cancella- tion, Powell said, "Unfortu- nately, it is what it is. I hate it for our kids and I hate it for Tell City. We will re- group and get ready to play Forest Park next week." The Chargers are sched- uled to play Forest Park at 7:30 p.m. on October 9 at Weather's Field. The last regular season contest is at North Posey on Octo- ber 16. Quinlan Teague ran her way to fourth overall in the Pike Central Invitational. See more photos on page B-4
