The other day I was in a bank and as I was speaking with the teller, we both de- cided we needed a vacation from our holidays. Well lucky for most of us, its 39 days un- til the next holiday, valentines day that is. So mark your cal- endars gentleman. Point is with all the hustle and bus- tle of the holidays, Christ- mas parties, family gather- ings, new years parties, or whatever your traditions may be, maybe you need a break too. But lets remember some- thing. I was reminded of this recently. The time of Christ- mas is not just to remember that Christ came, but that we live in an age where we are preparing for his return. One day when he returns, it will be nothing like his first com- ing. He will return in glory as a king, his appearance will be shimmering, and every knee will bow at his coming. With this in mind let us consider, how in this new year, we can prepare for his return. DJ Bryant, Pastor VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E. In Ezekiel 47:2-5, Eze- kiel is walking with an an- gel. The further they go, the deeper the water becomes. This is similar to our walk with Christ. The further and longer we walk with Christ, the more the Holy Spirit works in our lives. Thankfully, God doesn't throw us into the deep end before we are ready. He lets us wade in bit by bit until He knows we will rely on Him to do the work through us, be- cause we'll need to do just that, the deeper we are in our walk.
