C-2 Church Wednesday, September 25, 2019 The Press-Dispatch Continued from page 1 Baptist Continued on page 3 Continued in next column Continued in next column "This is a pup that will worry a glove to death, kill a shoe, rip a toilet roll to shreds and run a mile if it sees a mouse"—Pam Brown. This week, P AWS is fea- turing a bodacious young canine named Sailor, who is a very inquisitive young gal who doesn't know a stranger. She loves to get into mischief and can of- ten be seen in the office at PAWS playing with the cats. Although hard to de- tect from her speed and agility, Sailor has a de- formed front paw. She does not seem to be both- ered by this, and runs and plays as any normal pup. Sailor is a Pit Bull mix with soft, short, light chocolate fur, beautiful aqua eyes, is personality packed, spayed and has all her shots. To adopt Sailor, call 812- 354-9894. Dr. Robert Asa, Minister need to be forgiven." Jesus said, "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12). Al- so, "Forgive if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heav- enly Father will also forgive you; But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your re- sponses" (Matthew 6:14-15). Because He lives. John Manges, Minister Some of us feel like our life is like that project in the ga- rage, or the jigsaw puzzle on the table, unfinished. Un- finished without the urgen- cy or the motivation to fin- ish. And I encouraged, don't give up. You see Paul tells us in the scriptures that we are hard-pressed on every side. That seemingly in life, we feel like life at times is com- ing down on us from every angle. When that happens, we just want to give up. But that isn't where the verse ends. In fact, what Paul ac- tually says is "We are hard- pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair. What Paul wants us to know that in Christ, though we are faced with the harshest realities, our hope goes deeper and farther than our greatest despair. The hope and the promise is what we carry around. If you read further in II Corinthians 4:8 -12 you come to see that though we bear the burden of death in this life, it is Jesus' life that is revealed. Don't give up. Grace and Peace. Everyone welcome. DJ Bryant, Pastor BRENTON CHAPEL CHURCH OF CHRIST 1194 E. CR 400 N. Psalm 86:4 says, "Make Your servant rejoice, For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul [all that I am - in prayer]." The writer of this psalm understood that his soul was the most important thing to God. The body is just a ve- hicle for God's work. Some seem shiny and new while others look beat up and rust- ed out. One type may not be more useful than the oth- er. The soul inside is God's main concern, though He does want you to treat the body as a Temple for His Presence. We should rejoice that we have God and His salvation, no matter our physical con- dition or our circumstances. Rejoicing in God will lift our spirit, helping us feel stron- ger and more energized to continue His work. As you serve, ask Him to make you rejoice because He is God, rather than be- cause of what He does for you. God will hear you, for He is near. Keep believing in the spiritual truth despite what the physical might im- ply.
