Apple Hill Orchard Saturday, Sept. 28 9am - 5pm EDT OPEN HOUSE Adam Scales (812) 354-8488 adam.scales@infarmbureau.com Three arrested for drunken driving last week in county By Andy Heuring Three people were ar- rested for drunken driving last week in Pike County. One crashed upside down into the median of I-69, an- other hit a guardrail and a third was reported to police while in a restaurant drive- thru window. A Plainville teen was ar- rested early last Monday af- ter he crashed into the medi- an of I-69. Wyatt L. Holstine, 18, of Plainville was arrested by Indiana State Trooper C. J. Boeckman. Trooper Boeckman said he responded to a report of a crash at the 49 mile mark- er on I-69 at 1:43 a.m. When he arrived, Boeckman said Petersburg Officer Bryce Manning was helping Hol- stine out of his pickup that was overturned in the medi- an. Trooper Boeckman said when he talked with Hols- tine about the accident he noticed the odor of alcohol, bloodshot eyes, poor dexter- ity and slurred speech. According to a probable cause affidavit, Holstine said he "had a lot to drink" including beer, rum and whiskey. Holstine was checked out by the Pike County EMS and then failed field sobri- ety tests. He was taken to the Pike County Jail, where he tested 0.21 percent for blood alcohol content. The legal limit in Indiana for driving is 0.08 percent. He was charged with op- erating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent of more and minor consuming. On Wednesday at about 2:30 p.m. a Hazleton man was arrested for drunken driving after police received a report of a possible intoxi- cated driver in the drive-th- ru line at Subway. Maximilian A. Kremzar, 49, of 4523 E. SR56, Hazle- ton, was arrested by State Trooper John Davis. Trooper Davis said the report was the driver had slurred speech when or- dering and then fell asleep while in line and was driving a 2008 Porsche SUV. Davis said he saw the Porsche pull from Subway onto Highway 57 and go south until he turned onto Pike Ave. He saw it driving 51 mph in a 35 mph zone and then 60 in a 45 zone before pulling him over. Trooper Davis said Krem- zar swerved in the roadway and abruptly pulled over in- to the ditch at the side of the road. Davis said he could smell alcohol while talking to Kremzar, who also had slurred speech. Kremzar said he had drank about six hours ear- lier. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Pike County Jail, where he tested 0.15 percent for blood alcohol content. He was preliminarily charged with operating a ve- hicle with blood alcohol con- tent of 0.15 percent or more. An Otwell man was arrest- ed Friday night after police stopped him for speeding, and while pulling over he hit a guardrail. Adam Rhyse Tooley, 33, of 9848 E. SR56, Otwell, was arrested by Pike County Deputy Sheriff Paul Collier. Collier said he pulled Tooley over for speeding 55 in a 40 zone. While pulling over he sideswiped a guard- rail. While talking to Tooley, Deputy Collier said he could smell the odor of alcohol and detected slurred speech and glassy eyes. Tooley failed field sobri- ety tests and was taken to the Pike County Jail, where he tested 0.16 percent for blood alcohol content. He was preliminarily charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alco- hol content of 0.15 percent or more.
