Mushroom season Mushroom season 2019 appears to be a good year. Paul White found these mushrooms on Sunday. "I found them in about 20 minutes," said White. Most of the morels White found were nearly as big as a 12 oz. soft drink can. He said he found them near his house and probably could have found more if he would have continued to look for them. Obituaries DONALD R AY STILWELL On April 17, 2019, Prof. Donald Ray Stilwell passed away at the age of 84. Don was born on May 5, 1934, in Florence, Alabama, to Ar- thur T. Stilwell and Dortha O. Quinn. He earned his de- gree in Industrial Arts in 1955 from Indiana Univer- sity. On February 25, 1955, he married a beautiful Rosalee Ulrich, and together they raised three children. The United States Ar- my called for Don on Ju- ly 9, 1957, where he honor- ably served U.S. Army In- telligence. A fterward, he returned home to Elkhart and Princeton before mov- ing to Punta Gorda, Flor- ida, to continue inspiring and teaching students. Ed- ison College commended him on his dedication and influence to his students. His continued passion about education and elec- tronics was a pillar of ex- cellence that continued through his life, after his retirement of over 40 years. Don was a 32nd degree Freemason, and a member of the Araba Shriners. His hobbies included flying his Piper Cub, reading, west- ern movies and reminisc- ing under the stars. He was known for his incredibly sharp mind and rapier's wit. Don will be lovingly re- membered by his wife of 64 years, Rosalee Stilwell, and his children, Donnie, For- rest and Cynthia. "Pappaw" will forever be an inspira- tion to his grandchildren, Stephanie and Adam; and his great-grandson, Zacha- ry "Hot Rod" Coons. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Friday, April 26, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with buri- al to follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Oakland City American Le- gion Honor Guard. Friends may call for visi- tation at the Nass & Son Fu- neral Home in Huntingburg from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., on Friday, the day of the funeral. WALK-IN Continued from page 1 Crash on State Road 61 nearly involves flagman A Tuesday afternoon non- injury, two-car crash oc- curred on SR 61 and almost involved a flagger at a con- struction site near SR 354. A 2002 Dodge Caravan, driven by Freda Lewis, of 2242 N. SR 325 W., Petersburg, and a 2017 Ford Fusion, driven by David Rottet, of 206 S. Wal- nut St., Winslow, collided, according to Deputy Paul Collier's report. The Fusion was stopped by a flagman on SR 61 at CR 475 S., when brakes failed in the Dodge Caravan. Lewis attempted to swerve around the stopped Ford Fusion, but crashed in- to it, according to Collier's report. Witnesses stated the flag- man was almost hit by the Dodge Caravan. Both vehi- cles were driven from the scene and no injuries were reported.
