It is billed as the "most modern and sophisticat- ed attack submarine in the world." Pike County celebrates responders day Pike County Sheriff's Department celebrated Na- tional Responders Day with a cookout for area re- sponders and dispatchers. Cheri McLaughlin was honored for her 24 years of service as a dispatcher in Pike County's 911 system. She is the only mem- ber left of the original six dispatchers who were working when Pike County's 911 system started in 1995. "She has worked an array of shifts, including nights, seconds and days, and sometimes a com- bination of all of these in a single week. She has missed holidays and time with her family to provide emergency services to the citizens of Pike County," said E911 Director David Capehart, as he present- ed McLaughlin with a certificate for her continued service to Pike County. "I appreciate all my co-workers through the years. Thank you for having faith in me. It's an honor to serve the citizens of Pike County," said McLaughlin.
