Owner Marisa Hayes has on display in her 711 East Main Street dress shop a huge variety of designs and styles of ladies' tops, leg- gings, dresses, purses and jew- elry. Joining her in the oper- ation is her daughter, Nicole, who has been active in the shop since early on when the moth- er/daughter team readied their business for the August 2017 opening. Now in their second year of business on Main Street, the shop has expanded to include dozens of dresses and tops on display in the front room. That's followed by a jewelry section in the second sec- tion and then another even larg- er room with an extensive line of clothing, plus a selection of hand- made blankets. That first show room attracts the eye with various materials, designs and colors, compliment- ed with appropriate jewelry dis- played around the room. It is hard to pick a direction to go with so many choices, but within a few minutes, some of the offerings can be examined. The dress shop offers high quality products that are unique, according to Nicole. Both mother and daughter travel to choose and then purchase the shop's apparel that includes the latest offerings in tops, dresses, leggings, jewel- ry and purses. Marisa said, "I wanted to bring in a local shopping store. We sup- port locally-owned businesses." That can be seen in her daugh- ter, Nicole, who has incorporat- ed her HiTech Memories busi- ness in the store. Nicole's motto is "Where Every Memory Counts." She specializes in converting to DVD, but also performs photo re- pair, media conversion, plus slide show and movie editing needs. Another aspect of their local- ly-owned and operated business mindset is Marisa's husband, Dennis. He offers glass and col- lision repair at Hayes Body Shop at 8223 E. Ind. 356, near Otwell. Make Me Unique is in the pro- cess of designing a website and does have a Facebook page, ac- cording to Nicole. The shop is open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Sat- urday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Phone is 812-582-0850.
