Give us a call: 812-354-8500 SPORTS BRIEFS Registration for Girls' Charger Cub basketball league being accepted The 2018 -2019 Girls' Charger Cub basketball league is conducting reg- istration for girls in grades two through four who are interested in participating. The cost is $40 for the first child and $ 35 for each additional child in the same family. Registration forms are available at both Pe- tersburg and Winslow ele- mentary schools. Checks should be made payable to Coach Kyle McCutchan, which can be mailed – along with a completed reg- istration form – to 410 S. 8th St., Petersburg, IN 47567. The first practice will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 2 to 3:15 p.m., at the Petersburg Elementary School gym. Registration forms can be brought to the first practice. No registra- tion forms will be accepted after Sunday, Nov. 11. The Girls' Charger Cub basketball league will hold three practice dates – on Sunday, Nov. 4, Sun- day, Nov. 11, and Sunday, Nov. 18 – and four game dates, which will be played on Sunday afternoons at Petersburg Elementary School. Boys' Charger Cub Youth Basketball to conduct sign-ups Nov. 17 Charger Cub Youth Basketball sign-ups for boys in grades 1 through 5 will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Petersburg Elementary School gymnasium, from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Charger Cub Youth Basketball practices will begin on Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Petersburg El- ementary School gym. Grades 1-2 will practice from 9 a.m.-10 :15 a.m. and Grades 3-5 will practice from 10 :30 a.m.-11:45 a.m. Each player will re- ceive instruction on the skills and drills essen- tial for the game of bas- ketball, game play, con- tests, and a league T-shirt. Clinic-style skill develop- ment will also be conduct- ed on Saturday, Nov. 24, Saturday, Dec. 1, Satur- day, Dec. 8, and Saturday, Dec. 15.
