C-2 Church Wednesday, October 17, 2018 The Press-Dispatch Continued in next column Continued from page 1 A dog judges oth- ers not by their color or creed or class, but by who they are inside. This week PAWS is fea- turing a bubbly little ca- nine named Spuds, who is an interesting mix of a Basset Hound and Terri- er. He is a short little fel- low, has a robust person- ality, very playful and al- ways has a joyous expres- sion for any human who gives him attention. Spuds would make a great family pet and is anxiously awaiting to meet his forever family. He is neutered, has all his shots and is approxi- mately seven months old. To adopt this fun-loving fellow, call 812-354-9894. PAWS WEEK PAWS WEEK Pet of the SPUDS Continued on page 3 Baptist First Church of God Saturday, Oct. 27 3-5 P.M. Come Join Us! 2135 E. Although it may be com- mon for us to doubt that oth- ers will keep their word, this should not be the case regarding what God says he will do. What God says He will do He will do. That God does so despite our doubts shows how much he loves us and is willing to keep His word even when we think he won't. "Now the Lord was gra- cious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had prom- ised" (Genesis 21:1). Remember those on our prayer list, the shut-ins and our lost loved ones. Youth group sixth-12th grades, Sunday evening at 6 p.m. "Every good gift and ev- ery perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights" ( James 1:17). The key to understanding tragedy is to understand the source. Death and pain and every other tradegy came in- to this world because of sin. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they weren't just doing some- thing God had told them not to do. It was an open act of re- bellion- -in thought, word, or deed- -against the God who had made them and supplied their every need. It was say- ing God was a liar and be- lieving Satan instead. It was a yielding to the temptation to "be like God" (Gen. 3:5). What was sins greatest tragedy? It was the Cross- - for had it not been for sin, Jesus would never have had to die. But Christ triumphed over tragedy- -and so can we because of Him. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services.
