Winslow has had some rain late Sunday night and again early Tuesday morn- ing that could have brought up the Patoka River here in Winslow. Some of the trees have started to change in- to their fall colors of yellow and have begun to fall. This means that more trees will soon have those beautiful colors we all love to see in this Fall season. Our hum- mingbirds, two of them, are still here and they aren't too afraid of us when we get near the feeders. I love to hear the humming of their little wings. The deer are still in our ar- ea of town where Laura had seen four crossing the road barking at or it could be a stray cat, but I hope it isn't a skunk. Speaking of skunks, have you traveled through Camp- belltown last week? Those stinky animals can be smelled in several areas through the four-mile area. Winslow has had anoth- er star who moved back, so welcome, Marge Woodard. Last week's long column had an award of Lion of the Year that was given to Lan- ora Kelley, and her and Ben- ny are doing well. Norm has been under the house again as he fixed or braced up the floor in five places and then he start- ed the insulating around the water pipes and heating unit. Norm is so kind, be- cause he is under the house fixing things to make the house comfortable in the winter, and I help by stay- ing on the outside. So to my hubby, Norm, thank you so much for all you do. Sorry for the headaches you got from the iron beams you hit. The heating in the cabin has begun, so when we got a chance again from all the festivals, it will be time to saw and chop our wood for those cozy and comfy win- Tractor Drive, at the Zoar Church basement where we ate a delicious lunch, we saw and talked to Ruth Car- lisle, the mother of Rex and Max, she is looking great and reads the ramblings of Winslow. We talked to Jim and Sherry Lamey and saw their grandchildren. Did I mention the many yards that either had decorations of Fall or they had Hallow- een decorations set up? It's that time of year to decorate for the Winslow Halloween Yard Decoration that I love to see and give out my own little treat each year. There is one house that can't dec- orate like they would love to, but like I told them, next year will be bigger and bet- ter for them. Our friends, Tim and Jea- nette, needed a hand or two to hang a ceiling in a small room, and before long, they had lots of hands. Tim is do- ing well after his surgery and recovery. We hope the 2nd Buffalo Trace Festival in Petersburg went well and everyone had an enjoyable time. As the lights begin to dim on this weeks ramblings, keep an eye on family and friends, slow down and see all the wonders in your neck of the woods. Always smile, wave, and say Hi to everyone you see this week.
