The Lady Chargers, who dropped a 2-1 loss to visit- ing Northeast Dubois on Monday, Sept. 17, and de- feated host North Posey 2- 1 on Tuesday, Sept. 18, will play at Heritage Hills on Wednesday, Sept. 26, before closing out the regular sea- son at home against Forest Park on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. A fter drawing a first- round bye, the Lady Char- gers will battle host Prince- ton in the semifinals of the sectional tournament on Thursday, Oct. 4. Ed Cahill photo PCMS girls' soccer team routs Vincennes Clark 6-1 Keena Young scored four goals while Jaylynn Cape- hart and Kennedy Willis added one each as the Pike Central Middle School girls' soccer team closed out its regular season with a 6 -1 victory over visiting Vin- cennes Clark on Wednes- day, Sept. 19. "The ladies worked to- gether and showed tremen- dous effort on the field," said Lady Chargers head coach Brittney Biesterveld. "As coaches,we both were ex- tremely proud of our girls. The night was filled with honoring our eighth grad- ers, working to support one another, and celebrating the night's victory. It was one of the best games of the sea- son and we cannot wait to see this momentum contin- ue into their season-ending tournament next week." Pike Central, which dropped a 6 -1 loss to visit- ing Jasper on Tuesday, Sept. 18, ended the regular sea- son with a record of 10 -4. The Lady Chargers will host Jasper's seventh grade team in the opening round of the Southern Indiana Ju- nior High School Soccer Conference Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 27. The match will be played at the Old Petersburg Gym field starting at 6 p.m. The tournament will con- clude on Saturday, Sept. 29, with games tentatively scheduled for 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. in Jasper.
