C-12 Church Wednesday, April 4, 2018 The Press-Dispatch were, but they are "slothful of hearing" and hence can present their hearers with little that is of true value. This, in turn, is reflect- ed in the religious mass- es. They "love" their Bi- bles, but not enough to study them diligently and become workmen whom God can approve. Let us not be numbered among these. Rather, let it be our one great desire to gain a clear understanding of God's Word, rightly divid- ed — for His sake, for our own sake and for the sake of the needy souls about us. RAMBLINGS Continued from page 10 MINUTES Continued from page 10 Continued in next column Continued from page 2 in his mind after he be- trayed Jesus to the Sanhe- drin that he threw the thir- ty pieces of silver at the feet of the Jewish leaders and hanged himself to rid him- self of the thought of what a terrible thing he had done. You know if we would on- ly be honest with ourselves we have betrayed Jesus so much of the time, yet He forgives us if we seek and accept His forgiveness. It was said that when you are being convicted by the Ho- ly Spirit you have a chance to make a choice to accept Jesus. But if you don't ac- cept, you are making a choice to take a chance that He will convict again. Well maybe or maybe not you will be convicted again. Something strange has happened this year as Eas- ter Sunday and April Fool's Day appeared on the same day. I am glad they didn't call it as some saw it. I won't even say it in this column because to do so is just wrong in my opin- ion although I must admit it is a terrible combination. When I see children at Easter egg hunts I can't help but think that the egg is a good example of life. Although I must admit I don't really know where the bunny comes in, but somehow without him there couldn't be any eggs. The egg hunts are a part of growing up and as long as we explain to them that we are to celebrate our Lord's resurrection what harm has been done. This past Sunday at church I was impressed by our congregation and for us the number was im- pressive. We had our ser- mon, sang several Easter hymns, had communion and enjoyed breakfast. I was truly blessed when I saw some of my family there, who attend another church and a good friend who struggled to get there so she could worship with us. When I tell you to be a blessing and to accept all blessings that come your way I was truly a blessed man Sunday morning. To end this week's arti- cle I would like to thank the many people who read this column and encourage me to keep writing because they enjoy my thoughts. God has been good to me by granting me an active imagination and the bold- ness to give it a voice. Well be blessed and be a bless- ing. Pentecostal Presbyterian Nazarene Wesleyan Wesleyan Methodist ning Bible study at 6:30 p.m. So many trials come in- to our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that pass- es all understanding—He is in control. Questions regarding church events, call 812-582- 8896. Mailing Address: P.O. Join us this Sunday at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday school as we discover what happened when Miriam and Aaron lost focus on their mission and displayed jealously and a critical attitude towards Moses. You can read more in Numbers 12:1-15. We must be careful not to allow jealousy, selfishness, and complaining to negative- ly impact our faith commu- nity. It can only come from accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and living the life the Word of God de- clares in the many pages. You must believe that Jesus was crucified, buried, and rose again and is now at the right hand of the Father in- terceding for you and I. You must believe that He is com- ing again to rapture the dead in Christ and those that are alive, and one day He is com- ing back to set up His king- dom here on earth. You must have faith and believe. The devil tries to tell you it will be to hard, I have lived it for 34 years and there has been some ups and downs, but I would not trade this life for all the riches of this world. Quite a story During Sunday dinner, a mother asked her son what he learned in Sunday school that day. "Well," he said, "our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When he got the Red Sea, he had his engineers build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safe- ly. Then he used his walkie- talkie to radio headquarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge, and all the Israelites were saved." "Now, is that really what your teacher said? " the boy's mother asked. "Well, no," he admitted. "But if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never be- lieve it! " Office hours: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday. Boyd Heldring, Pastor Amy Melhiser, Secretary HUNTINGBURG HOLINESS CHURCH 813 N.
