Being Humbel Children "Do nothing out of self- ish ambition or vain con- ceit. Rather, in humility val- ue others above yourselves," (Philippians 2:3 NIV ). This scripture helps us to remember that as Christians we are to be humble and help others whenever we can, and to do nothing for our selfish need or pride. Does this mean that we can not be proud or show happiness in our accomplishments? No, however it does mean that we should not be boastful or look for a reward at all times in every situation. We should do them because it is what God would have us do, and what Jesus, if in our position, would do. This is at times a very hard thing to do, but "narrow is the gate and dif- ficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:14."
