The Press-Dispatch Church Wednesday, November 15, 2017 C- 3 CHURCH NOTE DEADLINE 10 A.M. EVERY TUESDAY RAMBLINGS Continued from page 1 Continued in next column Continued in next column Continued on page 5 Continued from page 2 before they could be killed by the enemy. Saul's son Jonathan fought courageously with a loyalty to the king and Is- rael. He died with a sense of duty which comes from within a person to just do what is right. The scripture doesn't say how Saul's oth- er two sons handled them- selves in battle, but they too were killed. Without a leader and someone to orchestrate a direction to go in, they all scattered from the Philis- tines. The day after the battle the Philistines were looting the dead Israe- li soldiers and they found Saul and his sons. They desecrated their bodies and displayed them as tro- phies. Some of the Israeli men took the desecrated bodies down from the wall and burned them and bur- ied their remains. Saul died rebelling against God without the fear of the Lord and with- out the hope of God's promise. How many warn- ings do we need before we give in and walk with God? So let us look at our lives and find that sense of du- ty which tells us to just do what's right and learn to walk in the direction that God leads. As I always end my ram- blings with the challenge to be blessed and be a bless- ing. 'Apostolic Women Arising' conference on Saturday, November 18 On Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Ark of Safety Ministries, lo- cated at 97 N. Monty Rd., Vincennes, there will be a combined gathering of Indi- ana, Illinois and Kentucky women representing "Ap- ostolic Women Arising," founded by Apostle Gaye Rogers, of Owensboro, Ky. This is for all women who desire to live their lives ac- cording to the New Testa- ment pattern: to find their God-given identity and des- tiny for the establishing of the Kingdom of God in the earth. An Apostle is "one sent out by Christ with a special mission," but you need not be an Apostle to attend this meeting. Gaye is the visionary for this AWA movement and her passion is to call forth the children of God to ful- fill their created purpose and assignment. She min- isters nationally and inter- nationally and is affiliated with N.E.I./Network Inter- national/Dutch Sheets and Ministry of Zion with Glob- al Spheres/Chuck Pierce and also James Nesbitt, for- merly of Illinois. Other speakers will be: Angela Harris, of Owens- boro. She is an overcomer of alcoholism, drug abuse, divorce, mental disorders, emotional and physical abuse. She is a protector of the broken hearted. Janie Richardson is an ordained minister with a passion to see unity in the body of Christ. She and her husband, Michael, are co- founders and five fold min- isters of Harvest Land City Gate and Apostolic/Pro- phetic Training Center in Murray, Ky. She is a found- ing director of Murray Prayer and Healing Rooms. Everyone is invited to come for what God is say- ing to His army of wom- en on the front lines. The event is free, but a love of- fering will be taken. Doors open at 9 a.m. for fellowship and light refreshments. There will be a break for lunch (not provided). A time of individual prayer and impartation will follow the speakers. For information, call 812- 726 -4520. Nazarene Methodist GLEZEN REVIVAL CENTER 245 S. Trust, Hope and Peace May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13, K JV ). Sometimes putting all your trust in God is so hard to do with all the worries that consume our lives here on earth, from sickness to financial trouble and more. Thankfully our God is a God of hope and wishes to give us peace and joy in ev- ery facet of our lives, in- stead of worries and strife. As children of God we need to remember that God al- ways knows what is going to happen before it does and that he works all this for our good. All we have to do is trust in him and let him guide us on our path. We welcome you to all services. Come and wor- ship Jesus with us. See our Facebook page Glezen Revival Center. Main Street, Petersburg Phone: 812-809-4544 Sunday services are at 10 a.m. and youth service at 6 p.m. What would you do if your spouse came home and handed you a receipt (paid in full) for that one item for which you've been longing to have? I know what I would do. I would immediately head straight to the store to pick it up. What if once you got there you were told that you couldn't have it? That the receipt wasn't valid? Well, you'd have two choices: walk away empty handed believing that your spouse had lied to you or demand what was rightful- ly yours. I mean, it's already been paid for (by someone who loves you). The Bible tells us what is rightfully ours and has already been paid for (by someone who loves us). The devil will lie to you and say you can't have it for what- ever reason he thinks he can deceive you with. Your choice is to believe that it's already paid for (find the scripture that says it) and demand, from the devil (you know he's the one who tries to kill, steal and destroy [John 10 :10]), what's right- fully yours. If you will be- lieve and stand in faith, the devil can't stop you from get- ting what is rightfully yours. • Church work day on Saturday, Dec. 2. Scripture reading from Luke 17:15 -18. Theme statement: Je- sus was met by ten lepers one day. Jesus healed them all but only one of them re- turned to give thanks. Even in our day, giving thanks and praise to God is a rare thing. There are three impor- tant steps in giving praise to God: 1. Recognize how God has touched us all. 2. Return to give thanks and praise. 3.Realize the power of praise. Leon Pomeroy, Pastor PETERSBURG FREE METHODIST CHURCH 202 E.
