We're not afraid to shed some light on the truth. 812-354-8500 Pentecostal Presbyterian Wesleyan Wesleyan HOUSE OF MERCY CHURCH Corner of East and Porter Winslow Pastor 812-789-5229 A Church with open arms and a loving heart. Sunday morning worship service at 10 a.m., with Sun- day school classes at 10 :45 a.m.; Every other Tuesday night, prayer at 7 p.m. Have you noticed how the enemy of Christian lives has blinded the eyes of so many, caused their ears to be deaf, and crippled them in such a manner to keep them from walking in the truth. The Bible states that in the last days there would be a great falling away, some having a form of godliness, but deny- ing the power thereof. That false prophets would be run- ning to and fro. Just look around where you live and see if this is not true today. Are we in the last of the last days? Ponder these words. Pray for your country, our President and government, your local government, our soldiers and all Pastors. Re- member to pray for the sick and afflicted and those in the nursing homes and hospitals and also pray about the elec- tions. Be a friend to your neigh- bors, co-workers, any with whom you come into con- tact. To have a friend, you need to be a friend. Jesus said what you give out is what you will receive back. May you find peace and joy in your life this week. Where is thy sting? Death's power is limited. It cannot eradicate memo- ries or slay love. It cannot de- stroy even a threadbare faith or permanently hobble the smallest hope in God. It can- not permeate the soul and it cannot cripple the spirit. It merely separates us for a while. That is the only pow- er death can claim - no more. Office hours: 9 a.m.-noon, Monday-Friday. A Conversation with God Me: God, can I ask You a question? God: Sure, my child. Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me to- day? First, I woke up late, then my car took forever to start, at lunch they made my sandwich wrong and I had to wait, on the way home, my phone went dead, just as I picked up a call, and on top of it all off, when I got home, I just wanted to soak my feet in my new foot massag- er and relax, but it wouldn't work. Nothing went right to- day. Why did You do that? God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning and I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that. I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road. The first person who made your sandwich today was sick and I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work. Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be cov- ered. Oh and that foot mas- sager, it had a shortage that was going to throw out all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to be in the dark. God: Learn to trust Me, in all things, the good and the bad. Don't doubt that My plan for your day is always better than your plan. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" ( Jeremiah 29:11, NIV ). We invite all of you to come and worship with us.
