Oakland City Gary Pancake, Pastor 812-664-4716 Sunday school 9:30 a.m., Faron McLaughlin, Super- intendent, Ryan Edrington, Assistant and Sunday morn- ing worship at 10 :30 a.m. Gary had a wonderful ser- mon Sunday about unity in the midst of change. The scripture came from Ne- hemiah 2:10 and centered around the re-building of the wall. He spoke to us about how we each have a roll to play and that we must stay on the right-hand side of God and not allow the dev- il to interfere in our endeav- ors. We know that God will get what he wants in His time. We enjoyed the true word of God and the mes- sage for today. We will be serving food at the Spurgeon Community Festival on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Jordan Park from 4- ? p.m. We are asking each church family to bring a 12 pack of canned soft drinks or a pallet of bottled water either to church Sunday or to the park. The Creator before the Creature When you say to a child, "Give me a glass," he knows what you are talking about. The word "glass" is associ- ated in his mind with an ob- ject. Philosophers like Kant tell us that before we have the phenomenon, i.e., that which can be seen or felt by the senses, we have the noumenon, i.e., that which is conceived of by intellectual intuition.
