The Press-Dispatch C-7 Wednesday, November 20, 2013 Lisa Gehlhausen receives Sagamore of Wabash award Lisa Gehlhausen, Executive Director of Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission, recently received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award. The award was presented by Board of Directors member Bill Byrd at a dinner meeting on October 22, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Commission. The recognition of Gehlhausen was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Senator Richard Young. The Sagamore of the Wabash Award is the highest honor awarded by the Governor of Indiana. It is a personal tribute given to those who have rendered a distinguished service to the state, to the governor, or to the public. It is a way of recognizing citizens who have contributed greatly to our Hoosier heritage. Gehlhausen has been employed with Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission for more than 35 years and has served as Executive Director since 2004. The Commission, a multi-county governmental agency, serves Crawford, Dubois, Orange, Perry, Pike and Spencer counties. Bill Byrd presents the Sagamore of the Wabash Award to Lisa Gehlhausen. She is a lifelong resident of Jasper. She is married to Gary Gehlhausen and has three children, Ross, Beth and Abby.
