Congratulations on making it through one of the hottest Summers ever recorded in North Carolina. Many records have been set regarding the heat, including record number of days over 90 degrees and record warm “nighttime “ low temperatures over 70 degrees. Now we can breathe a sigh of relief this weekend with an incoming nice, refreshing Canadian airmass. This airmass will feel like Fall, and send our temperatures down into the 50’s a couple of mornings. Also, “Earl” will be brushing the NC Outer Banks on Friday, before peeling up the Atlantic Seaboard (He won’t affect us in the Foothills). The weekend looks superb from any standpoint, so get out and enjoy the Labor Day weekend and all the great weather because next week looks like a return to the heat and the 90 degree temps again. There’s no rain in sight for our area, and usually September can be a very dry month for much of the area.
