Lunch & a Study of the Bible First Thurs. of Each Month at Central Methodist First Thursday -- Lunch with Susan will be celebrating its twenti- eth year. This is a Shelby institution that is barely noticed, but one that draws many women and men each month to Central Methodist Church for a community gathering for lunch and a study of the Bible. The teacher is Susan Carlisle Bell, an art instructor at Gardner-Webb University. She also has a masters degree in Christian education. Lunch is noontime to one o’clock. Mothers of young children, and those on lunch break will appreciate that Susan begins the teach- ing at 12:10 and finishes by 12:50 p.m. There is no “homework,” no membership, and lunch is optional at $4.00. **Reservations are required for the lunch and nursery care**.
