Dent add- ed eight yards on the ground, but a bad exchange with the halfback was again recov- ered by the Hatchets, giving their offense the ball deep in their own end. Once again a Marchino sack forced a punt and the Chargers took over at their 28. It was Marchino's third sack of the night. This time the PC offense shut the door on the Hatchets. The Chargers kept the ball on the ground for seven consecu- tive runs, pushing the ball to the Washington 37-yard line. On third and 11, Meadows hit Peyton Howald for his second long touchdown of the night, a 37 yarder. It gave the Char- gers a 28 -7 win. A fter the game, Charger coach Kelly Brashear praised the team effort. "This was a great team win from coach- es having a good game plan to the kids taking the game plan and executing. I thought we were good in all phases. Special teams was tremen- dously better tonight. Peyton Howald was outstanding to- night. He had four PAT's, two touchdowns and even an inter- ception. Defensively I thought what really kept us going was our front three, Skylar Shel- ton, Braden Schultheis, and Isaac Marchino. Justin Leeds also did an outstanding job coming in for Skylar through- out the night." Pike Central (2-8) hosts West Vigo (4-6) next Friday night at 7:30 pm in the sec- tional semifinal.
