Goble is the Pike Coun- ty's Purdue Extension Health and Human Science (HHS), 4- H Youth Development Educa- tor, and County Extension Di- rector (CED). The HHS position creates innovative learning opportu- nities that address local issues and are dedicated to helping improve the quality of life to our residents. The CED is re- sponsible for all program and administrative affairs of the county extension office. Goble grew up in Walker- ton, Indiana, and was heav- ily involved in 4-H growing up. Goble lives in Washing- ton with her husband, Hunt- er, and their fur baby Bruce. "I put my heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears into the job because it is my dream job" Goble said. Goble has a variety of re- sponsibilities under her title. Many think that Purdue Ex- tension is all 4-H but that is on- ly a portion of their responsi- bilities. For example, Goble is an ed- ucator for the Parents Forev- er program. This program is for families experiencing di- vorce, separation, or a change in child custody. This is a course that is required in ma- ny counties when experienc- ing divorce with child custo- dy involved. Goble collaborates and partners with many organi- zations in the county to help bring programs to our ar- ea. She often works with lo- cal schools, the Elmer Buch- ta Tech Center, Farmer's Mar- ket, Chamber of Commerce, Soil & Water Conservation, Tri-Cap, Pike Co. Library, and many more. Goble has helped put to- gether and bring programs like Food Budgeting and Meal Planning to the com- munity, along with her many other responsibilities. Goble also helped to make sure our local farmers had the oppor- tunity to become Food Han- dlers Certified to continue to sell at our farmer's markets when laws changed. "Brooke is a great person and doesn't back down from any challenge," Shawna Wis- caver, Family Advocate at Tri- Cap said. "Last night, October 17, Tri-Cap Head Start had an event for families and Brooke was asked to come and judge chili and also be a speaker on inexpensive meals. Brooke had a lot of information for the families. She did a great job and I am so excited to have a community partnership with her." "Since I started here in March of 2022, Brooke Goble with Purdue Extension, has been an incredible resource for me here at the Tech Cen- ter," Bridget Butcher, Pro- gram Coordinator for the El- mer Buchta Technology Cen- ter, said. "Brooke and I have had the opportunity to col- laborate on a number of in- dustry and educational-driv- en programs such as the Busi- ness Resource Roundup and the Resume Building Work- shop. Brooke is an effective communicator, productivity queen, and Jack of all trades". Goble is also the Vice President on the Pike Coun- ty Chamber of Commerce board. "She jumped in head first when joining the Cham- ber of Commerce board and has been a great asset," Stephanie Gaskins-McGuire, President of the Chamber of Commerce said. "Brooke is hard working, creative, and tech-savvy which we sure did need. The Chamber and Pur- due Extension collaborate on many events, and I am excit- ed to see both groups work together and bring back the Leadership Pike County Pro- gram this year." The 4-H program is a big part of Goble's job as an ex- tension agent. "Brooke has been a great asset to the Pike County 4-H program and the Pike County Extension Of- fice," Chris Burkhart, Presi- dent of the Pike County Pur- due Extension Board said. "During the last three 4-H program years, enrollment and participation has steadily increased. Brooke genuinely cares about our 4-H kids and I am glad we have her work- ing in Pike County." "Brooke is the perfect ex- ample of professional, opti- mistic leadership as an edu- cator," Judy Krieg, President of the Pike County 4-H Coun- cil, said. "We are very lucky to have her as a role mod- el for the youth of our coun- ty. Brooke is always genuine- ly excited for the successes of each 4H'er and each pro- gram. It's truly impressive that, with all the 4H'ers and all the families Brooke inter- acts with, she will know each person by name and, more of- ten than not, identify some- thing special about them: proj- ects they submit, animals they raise, and their education- al goals. That is how she has built strong relationships and is the basis for why our 4-H program is growing so quick- ly. Brooke is a true asset to the Pike County 4-H program.
