WHERE YOU CAN GIVE *Brands may vary Mail a check to P.O. Box 338 Thomasville, NC 27361 How patient are you? I can give plenty of examples of how I don't always utilize patience. When I get ready to check out at a store, I always look for the short- est line, or I'll just go to the self checkout. While driving, I will take the side roads, because I don't want to sit in non-moving traffic, and I like fast-food restau- rants, especially if there are just a few cars that seem to be steadily moving. Now, don't judge me; I know I am not alone. In fact, multiple businesses have skyrock- eted into billionaire status, because they have capital- ized on the masses' desire to want things quickly and conveniently. Two Different Time Zones I have learned that God's timetable and my timetable are usually on two different schedules. This is because God lives and operates in the realm of eternity. He is not hindered or limited by time. Psalm 90:4 (GNT) says "A thousand years to you are like one day; they are like yesterday, already gone, like a short hour in the night." Since many of us don't like to wait, we get upset with God or discour- aged. However, God has a rem- edy for our agita- tion - Patience, a fruit of the Spirit. It means the ca- pacity to accept or tolerate delay and discomfort without getting angry or upset. Colossians 1:11 (CEV) says, "His glo- rious power will make you patient and strong enough to endure anything, and you will be truly happy." It Will Come To Pass This walk of faith with the Lord requires patience. I am here to encourage you to not give up the faith! If it is God's will for your life; it will come to pass! Re- cently, I applied for a cer- tain position. I received not one interview, but two! The hiring manager told me that he would get back with me. Then, there was silence, so I followed up with an email - still I didn't get a response from him. As I waited, I proclaimed God's will to be done and asked the Lord to keep my heart in peace. Fi- nally, I was offered the po- sition! The hiring manager apologized to me, because he had taken a vacation and was out of the office. Although I hadn't heard back immediately, the job was already mine. Instead of worrying, God wanted me to praise him and trust him. Delayed doesn't mean denied! Romans 8:25 says, (NLT) "But if we look for- ward to something we don't yet have, we must wait pa- tiently and confidently." PRAY THIS PRAYER "Father, I praise you for being patient with me and my shenanigans. You are compassionate, slow to anger and full of mercy. I ask that you forgive me for being impatient with you, others, and circumstances. Thank you for your Holy Spirit that lives in me. Please remind me to sur- render to you, so you can produce the fruit in my life of love, joy, peace, pa- tience, goodness, kindness, humility, faithfulness and self-control. I love you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen." Danyale Patterson would love to hear from you! Con- tact her at www.danyale. com to share a testimony, send a prayer request, or book her to speak. Delayed not denied! DANYALE PATTERSON Sheriff's Offi ce holds National Night Out event The Cleveland County Sheriff's Offi ce held their fi rst ever National Night Out event on August 2, 2022 in Uptown Shelby, from 6pm- 8:30pm. National Night Out is an event that provides a great opportunity to bring Law En- forcement Offi cers and the community togeth- er under positive circumstances. This year we had 34 deputies at the event which represent- ed 7 different divisions of the Sheriff's Offi ce. We were able to share 17 dozen doughnuts, coffee, and fellowship with the community, while giving away 50 insulated tumblers, 150 Logo cups & coasters, 300 key chains, and 50 Sheriff's Offi ce T-shirts to kids at the event. The atmosphere was festive and a great time was had by all. We estimate that 400 people attended our event during the two and a half hours that we were there, and we look forward to holding this event in the years to come. Sheriff Norman said "It goes to show that Cleveland County has a strong base of sup- port for our law enforcement offi cers. We can always count on our citizens to support our efforts to help us locate missing persons or identify persons of interest in crimes, which makes the community a safer place to live. Last night was a national event but we, at the Sheriff's Offi ce engage our citizens through- out the year with other events around the county". Submitted by Ashley Hoyle of the Cleveland County Sheriff's Offi ce Shelby Police offi cers Wampler, Scell, and Hill greet members of the community at the Shelby Police Department's National Night Out on August 2nd, at the Bobby Bell Pavilion. The event included free hotdogs, free snowballs, kids infl atable, and much more from our other organizations.
