He was born July 20, 1963 to Robert and Roberta (Mon- hollen) Mitchell, in Williams- burg, Ky. He had worked many years for Masterbrand Decora in Jasper. He was a proud mem- ber of the American Legion, Dubois County Conservation Council, and the Huntingburg Conservation Club. He is survived by Dawn Mitchell; daughters, Aman- da (David) Mathias, Saman- tha (Nick) Henson, Jessica ( Josh) Miller, Sara Mitchell, and Elizabeth Mitchell; sever- al grandchildren; step daugh- ters, Adrienne McGhee and Breanne Gudorf; and broth- er-in-law, Mike (Chad Brian) Voegerl. He is preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at the Huntingburg Conservation Club, located at 8728 S. 100 W. Ferdinand, IN 47532. Harris Funer- al Home in Petersburg, is en- trusted his with care. JEROME BOWLING Jerome "Jerry" Michael Bowling, 76, passed away at his Montgomery residence on March 12, 2022. He was born in Washing- ton on September 29, 1945, to Joseph Ivan and Nellie Es- telle (Swann) Bowling. On March 20, 1971, he married Jane (Nolley) Bowling and she survives. He served his country hon- orably in the United States Air Force and was a Viet Nam vet- eran. He also served in the In- diana National Guard. He was retired from Crane where he was an electronics technician. He also drove a truck for Tom- my Evans. A man of various in- terests, he enjoyed his gun col- lection, playing video games, and collecting eagles. He was a member of the Washing- ton Conservation Club, a past commander of the Washing- ton American Legion, and a member of the Washington VFW. Those who now cherish his memory include his wife, Jane; sons, Robert Eugene "Ge- no" Bowling, of Vincennes, Karl Shawn ( Johanna Ward) Bowling, of Washington, and Shane Anthony (Holly) Bowl- ing, of Heltonville; five grand- children; four step-grandchil- dren; one great-grandchild; one step-great-grandchild; his siblings: Edward Bowling, of Petersburg and Margaret Ann Bowman, of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his broth- er, Karl Francis Bowling. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Ed L. Lee Mor- tuary, North Chapel North Chapel, 620 East Viola Ave- nue, Washington, Pastor Tim Baxter will officiate. Wash- ington American Legion and Washington VFW will accord military rites. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.edl- eemortuary.com ELEANOR LOUISE BELLAMY Eleanor 'Boots' Louise Bel- lamy, 89, of Ayrshire commu- nity, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2022. She was born November 6, 1932, to George and Lottie (Crow) Blacketer in Winslow. A 1949 Winslow High School graduate, she attended and was a member of Ayrshire Valley General Baptist Church for 89 years. She was a mem- ber of the church's Ladies Mis- sionary Society and was a pi- anist for the church for many years. She also taught Sunday School and enjoyed singing. Her personal relation- ship with Jesus Christ was expressed to others by her words and acts of generosity and kindness. She was a member of the Jefferson Twp. (Otwell) Com- munity Center. She was employed at The Press-Dispatch for more than 40 years, prior to retiring in 2017. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne ( Wayne) Cooper, of St. Louis, Mo. and Angela ( John) Heuring, of Petersburg; son, John Alan, of Ayrshire community; grandchildren, Jennifer ( Jason) Teemer, Amanda(Chris) Becker and Jonathan Cooper, all of St. Louis; and four great- grandchildren, Lelaina, Elias and Blakely Becker and Weston Teemer, all of St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her parents, one half-sister, and her husband, John W. Bel- lamy. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 17 at 3 p.m. EST with visitation from noon to 3 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with Rev. Frank Coleman officiating. Pre-registra- tion is not necessary, and there is no cost to attend. COURTNEY I. TOLER Courtney Ilene Toler, 27, passed away at her home in Pe- tersburg, March 14, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born in Terre Haute on December 3, 1994, to Boyd and Tonja (Edrington) Toler. She enjoyed drawing, espe- cially butterflies and flowers. She was an avid collector of Ty Beanie Boos with a collection of over 200. She was a faithful member of the Otwell Bible Baptist Church. She never missed a service unless she was physi- cally unable to attend. She was known for her strong faith in God which gave her a fierce de- termination to face any adversi- ty that came her way. Possess- ing a sweet disposition, she was loved by all who knew her. Those who now mourn Courtney's passing include her parents, Boyd and Tonja Toler, of Petersburg; her broth- er, Caleb Toler and his fiancée, Kristen Keelan, both of Mur- freesboro, Tennessee; grand- parents, John and Betty Tol- er, of Petersburg, and Joy and Frank Richard, of Washington; and great-grandmother, Stella Toler, of Petersburg. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward Boyd Edrington. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Otwell Bible Bap- tist Church, 4995 North Coun- ty Road 850 East, Otwell, In- diana 47564, with Pastor Scott Fulcher officiating. Perry ' s Perry ' s Alpha Delta Chapter March meeting The Alpha Delta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Soci- ety International met March 8, in Washington. The host- esses were Janet Eaton, Ala- na Thompson, Carol Olsen, and the Washington teachers and retirees. Twenty members were in attendance. President Joan Weathers opened the meeting by reading an old Irish blessing. The hostesses were thanked for their work in planning the meeting. The Collect was read in unison be- fore the delicious meal. Preceding the business meeting, Ruthanne Bur- khart presented a Ceremo- ny of Remembrance for Ed- na Ruth Jackman. She was a loyal member of DKG for 60 years, and she will be greatly missed. The ceremony ended with a choral reading of "She Taught Me" and the reading of a thank you letter from Ruth's daughter. A fter the business meeting, Janet Eaton told members sev- eral stories on the origin of the Blarney Stone, and that kiss- ing it will give a person the gift of gab. Then each member had a "piece of the Blarney Stone" with her name on it to pass right and left, while Alana Thompson read about St. Pat- rick. Carol Olsen passed out a list of questions about the col- or "green." Rhonda York got the most answers correct and was awarded the door prize. The next meeting will be on May 3, at the home of Joan Weathers with North Daviess teachers and retirees as host- esses.
