He was born February 7, 1937 to Doyle and Esther (Gentry) Edrington, in Spur- geon. He obtained his Master's Degree from Indiana State University and taught school at Winslow High School and Pike Central High School. He married his wife, Jessie (Ar- nold) Edrington on May 12, 1957. He is survived by his wife, Jessie; granddaughter, Paige (Ben) Dunn; a great grand- child, arriving in June; broth- er, Don Edrington; and sister, Margaret Chandler. He is preceded in death by his son, Tom Edrington; his parents; brother, Paul Edrington; and an infant sis- ter. Services will be 1 p.m. EST on Monday, February 21, 2022, at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with pastors Joe Henson and Eddie Willis officiating. Visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, in Campbelltown. EDWARD WOOLSEY Edward Eugene Woolsey, 65, residing in New Castle, passed away on November 11, 2021 at St. Vincent 86th St. hospital, in Indianapolis. He was born to the late David and Marilyn (Roche) Woolsey, in Vincennes, on Oc- tober 29, 1956. He was the first of three boys. He attended Pike Central High School, located outside of Petersburg. He worked for Contech in Michigan for sev- eral years, ran a muffler shop in Michigan, as well as work- ing as an Optical Tech for Len- scafters and Dr. Tavel in Indi- anapolis. He was a kind-heart- ed man, but would always joke around with everyone. He loved his mountain dew and cigarettes. He enjoyed play- ing softball and golf in his younger years. He was a won- derful man who will be deep- ly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his son Chris Woolsey; ex-wife Car- la Sumners Woolsey; broth- er Scott (Marilyn) Woolsey; stepmother Laurie Wool- sey; stepsister Missy ( John) Sowders; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Mi- chael Woolsey. Cremation services were handled through Legacy Cre- mation and Funeral Service – Anderson. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. MARILYN A. PANCAKE Marilyn A. Pancake, 74, of Franklin, Ky., formerly of Winslow, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Franklin Medical Center in Franklin, Ky. She was born to Melvin L. and Mable (Coleman) Jones in Washington, on August 1, 1947. She married Kenneth R. Pancake on June 25, 1966 in Velpen. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2016. She retired from the bill- ing department at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. She was a member of Winslow General Baptist Church. She enjoyed plants and flowers, reading Christian literature, antiqu- ing and spending time with family. Surviving her are two daughters, Teresa (Eric) Ar- teberry, White House, Tenn., Cynthia (Daniel) Roberts, Franklin, Ky.; and two grand- children, Chelsea ( Jason) Roberts-Norman and Brett Arteberry; four sisters, Shir- ley Bush, of Winslow, Barba- ra (Andy) Gray, of Winslow, Judy (Kenny) Doades, of Ot- well, Linda Jones, of Velpen; and two brothers, Hershel (Sandy) Jones, of Winslow, and Floyd (Sharon) Jones, of Ireland. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb- ruary 25, 2022, at the Bech- er-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Pastor Gary Watson will officiate. Online condolences may be made at www.becherkluesner. com JAMES WHIT TEN James "Roar" Whitten, 60, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Marion VA Medical Cen- ter in Marion, IL. He was born to Mr. and Mrs. James R. Whitten on April 18, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was a graduate of PCHS Class of 1979. He served in the US Navy from 1979 -1981. He had been a fork truck opera- tor at Penske. He enjoyed his Harley motorcycle and being outdoors. He is survived by his moth- er, Nancy (Nichols) Whitten; children, Savanah Whitten, of Mount Carmel, Ill., Jazmin Whitten, of Princeton and Ter- rance Whitten, of Illinois; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Daniel Whitten. There will be a Celebration of Life from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at the Owensville Community Center. K ATHRYN McGILLEM Kathryn Fern (Davis) Mc- Gillem, 87, of Newburgh, passed away Saturday, Feb- ruary 19, 2022, at Hamilton Pointe Health and Rehab. She was born to the late Richard and Dicey Nancy (McRoberts) Davis, in Peters- burg, on October 12, 1934. She was very active in her church where she taught sign language. She was a lov- ing wife, mother, and grand- mother. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Cindy) McGillem, of Evansville; sister, Ruth Wil- hite, of Evansville; grand- daughter, Keri Davenport, of Miss.; three great-grandchil- dren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ivan E. McGillem; son, Mike Davis; her parents; and sister, Patty Wilson. BARBAR A POMEROY Barbara Sue Pomeroy, 65, of Toulon, Ill., formerly of Peters- burg and Knox, left this world peacefully at 4:08 a.m. Thurs- day, September 30, 2021, at her home. She was born to Norval and Esther (Bratton) Wixomon on February 16, 1956, in Eu- reka, S.D. She married Leon Pome- roy on August 27, 1977 in Caldwell, Idaho. She graduat- ed with a Bachelor of Science in Christian Education from the former Gulf Coast Bible College in Houston, Texas, in 1979. She served in the min- istry alongside her husband, Rev. Leon Pomeroy. She was a tender and compassionate soul with the strength of a li- oness. The positive impact she made in the lives of those who crossed her path stands as evidence of her authentic love and genuine faith. She homeschooled her children for 26 years, and was an ac- tive member of many church- es in which her husband was pastor, most recently the Tou- lon United Methodist Church. Surviving her is her hus- band, Leon; six children, Jar- ed Pomeroy, of El Paso, Texas, Joshua Pomeroy, of Hartland, Mich., Justin ( Jana) Pomeroy, of Fishers, Joanna (Renee) Pomeroy, of Salem, Mich., Ju- lia (Matthew) Neuer, of Knox, and Joy Pomeroy, of Peters- burg; four grandchildren; two sisters, Kay ( Joe) Tira, of Min- den, Neb. and Mary ( John) Ja- mieson, of Longview, Wash.; and one brother, Don (Barb) Wixom, of Napa, Idaho. She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Lau- ra Wood-Pomeroy; two sisters, Ruth Mickelson and Jeannie Wixom; and one brother, Da- vid Wixom. Her memorial service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Toulon United Methodist Church, in Toulon, Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce of- ficiated. CARY DEAN BURCH Cary Dean Burch, 81, of Vincennes, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, while at his residence, sur- rounded by his loving family. He was born in Cato, to the late Orville Burch and Mae McDaniel Burch, on April 12, 1940. He was a member of the VFW 1157 and enjoyed play- ing golf. He retired from a ca- reer in sales and was a devot- ed family man. He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Stephens) Burch; children, Lisa (Tony) Sims, of Petersburg, Scott Burch, of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Chris (Tammi) Burch, of Newbern Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Todd (Kayla) Sims, Ashley ( John) Wilson, Rian (An- drew) Massie, Brent (Alli) Burch, Evan Burch, Nolan Burch and Garrett Lorax; two great-grandchildren, Kaydee Sims and Maverick Wilson; siblings, Juanita Burch White- head, Dana ( Janice) Burch; in- laws, Irma Burch, Jana Carie, Cathi Stephens Gains, Ter- ri ( J.R. She was surrounded by family and went peacefully. She was born March 15, 1943 to Gladys Engleman and Oscar Hurst. She grew up in Pike Coun- ty, and moved to Indianapolis in 1970. She was the first fe- male sales rep in trucking and worked for a time in market- ing before transitioning to a job as a secretary and jill of all trades at Chapel Rock Chris- tian Church of Indianapolis, where she was an active mem- ber. She married the love of her life on November 27, 1988 in a surprise ceremony at the home of her mother, Gladys Engleman in Petersburg. She touched countless lives through her generosity, faith and care for those around her. She was known for her willing- ness to jump in when someone needed a helping hand, and was kind and unselfish of her time. She never made anyone feel anything less than loved and accepted. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren affection- ately referred to her as "The Shopping Queen" and she was always on the lookout for a deal and a way to make her friends and family smile with her pur- chases. She doted on her ani- mals, often preparing special treats for them, and never for- getting her family member's pets. She had a quick wit and loved to laugh and enjoy her life. Up until she passed, She enjoyed socializing and had a full calendar of events and meals with friends. Survivors include her moth- er, Gladys Engleman; siblings, Dave (Suzanne) Hurst, Don (Linda) Hurst, Kenny (Sha- ron) Hurst and Cathy (Mike) Bosler; children, Andrea (Ralph) Romine, J.R. Schro- eder, Marla Jan Schroeder; step-children, Theresa, Lar- ry and Ernie Slinker; grand- children, Andrew Schroeder, Raquel Mertz, Midas Romine, Sebastian Romine, Rosie Ro- mine and 3 great-grandchil- dren, James, Naomi and Els- peth. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne N.
